Andre Caldwell: Released on Monday
Andre Caldwell (arm) was released from the Lions' injured reserve list Monday.Caldwell's release is likely the result of an injury settlement, though that hasn't been confirmed. He was expected to make the team when he was signed back in May, but the signings of Anquan Boldin and Andre Roberts, coupled with his broken hand, made that nearly impossible, which is why he was placed on IR for the year and why the team decided to part ways with him.

Lions' Andre Caldwell: Lands on injured reserve
The Detroit Lions have placed Andre Caldwell (hand) on injured reserve, the Detroit Free Press reports.Caldwell broke a bone in his hand early last week and was unable to take part in Detroit's preseason opener versus Pittsburgh. Although he seemed likely to make the team when signed in May, the additions of Anquan Boldin, as well as Andre Roberts to a lesser extent, put that likelihood in question. Now, the Lions will likely release Caldwell with an injury settlement.

Lions' Andre Caldwell: Lands in Detroit
The Detroit Lions and Andre Caldwell agreed to a contract Wednesday, MLive.com reports.Since receiving sporadic starts with the Bengals during a four-year stint to kick off his career, Caldwell was lightly used with the Broncos over the past four seasons, totaling 32 catches (on 70 targets) for 337 yards and five touchdowns across 54 games. He took on part-time duty as a kick returner as well, averaging 23.2 YPR on 25 attempts over the last three campaigns, but he merely hauled in his only target while returning a pair of kicks in Denver's Super Bowl victory in February. If he lands on the Lions' 53-man roster out of training camp, he'll serve as depth for a receiving corps that's attempting to weather the loss of Calvin Johnson to retirement.

Broncos' Andre Caldwell: Totals 22 yards in Super Bowl 50
Andre Caldwell caught his lone target in Sunday's victory over the Panthers for 22 yards.Caldwell's sideline catch came on the Denver Broncos' opening drive and helped set up a field goal lead that they never relinquished. Caldwell caught just 10 passes in 14 games in 2015, but recorded a reception in each of Denver's three playoff matchups. They may be his last as a Bronco. With Cody Latimer already on the books for 2016 and younger options to retain in free agency including Bennie Fowler and Jordan Norwood, Caldwell may be the odd man out.

Broncos' Peyton Manning teases Demaryius Thomas for skipping workout
As expected, Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas skipped QB Peyton Manning's offseason passing workout at Duke University last week. Thomas was tagged by the team, keeping him off the free agent market, and he's in the process of negotiating a long-term contract with the Broncos. He intends to work out on his own until the deal is done. Manning spent the week throwing to Broncos pass catchers Owen Daniels, Andre Caldwell, Emmanuel Sanders, Cody Latimer and Virgil Green. Manning poked fun at Thomas by photoshopping him into a group picture, taken at Duke after a workout.
