Panthers CB Chris Houston announces retirement
Carolina Panthers cornerback Chris Houston has decided to call it a career and announced his retirement on Tuesday. Houston signed a one-year deal with the team last month. He missed the entire 2014 season while battling a toe injury and last played for the Lions in 2013. Houston played 99 career games, recording 13 interceptions and 324 tackles.

Panthers sign CB Chris Houston to one-year deal
Former Lions cornerback Chris Houston inked a one-year deal with the Panthers on Monday, per the team, with the hope that his injured toe can hold up after missing all of the 2014 campaign. Houston last played in 2013 with the Lions, and he has 13 career interceptions. But Detroit released him one year into a five-year, $25 million deal due to the surgery on his toe. The Panthers released Jocquel Skinner to make room for Houston.
