Brandon Meriweather agreed to a contract with the New York Giants on Wednesday.Meriweather was released by the Giants last week, but the team decided to bring him back after fellow safety Cooper Taylor suffered a concussion in Sunday's loss to the Panthers. Meriweather started 11 games this season, but it remains to be seen if he will do so in either Week 16 or 17.

Brandon Meriweather (knee) has been released by the Giants on Wednesday, NJ.com reports.The Giants parted ways with the eight-year veteran on Wednesday in order to make room for the signing of defensive lineman Barry Cofield. Meriweather was signed during training camp and started in 11 games before going down with a knee injury. He has 53 tackles and two interceptions on the season. Meriweather could find his way onto a roster in need of secondary depth.
