Broncos' Antonio Smith being investigated for child abuse
Denver Broncos defensive end Antonio Smith is being investigated for child abuse, TMZ reported early Thursday morning. The investigation is related to "multiple incidents dating back to 2010" in the state of Texas, according to the person making the accusation against Smith. The case was filed in Colorado in November but was moved to Texas. Fort Bend County District Attorney John Healey confirmed to TMZ that the child abuse division is handling the case against Smith but said that no charges have been filed. Healey later told the Denver Post that his office has been investigating Smith for several weeks. "It is true that the county sheriff's office has received a complaint from an individual," he said. "They are, and have been, conducting an investigation. ... My office is working with the investigating agency to review their information and further their investigation. There is nothing imminent." The Broncos released a statement regarding the matter, reading, "Last night, we became aware for the first time of an allegation involving Antonio Smith. We are now in the process of gathering more information."

Broncos sign defensive lineman Antonio Smith
The Denver Broncos announced on Thursday that they have signed defensive lineman Antonio Smith to a one-year deal. According to NFL.com, the deal will pay Smith $2 million for his only season he's under contract for. In 10 years, Smith totaled 302 total tackles, 44.5 sacks, eight passes defensed and 11 forced fumbles. He's had stints with the Cardinals (2004-2008), Texans (2009-2013) and Raiders (2014).

Report: Texans interested in DT Antonio Smith
The Houston Texans are interested in signing defensive tackle Antonio Smith, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport. The team is in discussions about bringing back Smith. Smith, who played for the Texans for five seasons, was released by the Raiders on Tuesday. The 33-year-old has started at least 15 games in each of the last six seasons.
