Will Smith: Dies in shooting in New Orleans

Will Smith was fatally shot late Saturday night following what police described as a road rage incident in downtown New Orleans, Katherine Terrell of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.Smith was driving in New Orleans' Lower Garden District around 11:30 p.m. local time when his vehicle collided with another. Following the incident, the 30-year-old driver of the other vehicle brandished a handgun and shot Smith and his wife Racquel, who escaped with a wound. Smith's loss is a devastating one for the New Orleans community, as he spent his entire career as a member of the Saints. The 34-year-old Smith, who last played in the league in 2012 after struggling to regain his explosion following an ACL tear, ranks fourth in team history with 67.5 sacks.
