Rams release Jake Long, Scott Wells
The St. Louis Rams announced that the team has released tackle Jake Long and center Scott Wells to help clear room under the salary cap. Long was scheduled to make $9.25 million in 2015, with a $10.5 million cap hit. Wells would have made $2 million with a $4.75 million hit. Combined, the two moves save about $12 million against the 2015 cap.

Rams facing decision on veteran C Scott Wells
St. Louis Rams center Scott Wells has a $2 million base salary and will count $5.5 million against the cap in 2015, the last year of his contract. With Wells due a $1 million roster bonus on March 12, the Rams have a little over a month to decide whether to stick with the 34-year-old Wells or get younger at center, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Wells played in every game last season despite dealing with an elbow injury. Cutting him would save the Rams $3.5 million. In 2012-13, Wells missed a total of 13 games due to injuries.

Rams will have Jenkins, Long and Wells for finale
The St. Louis Rams will have Janoris Jenkins, Chris Long and Scott Wells Week 17 against the Seahawks. All three players came into the contest listed as probable, and were always expected to play. Jenkins is dealing with a back injury. Long was listed on the injury report, but it was for non-injury reasons. Wells also has a back issue. Both Wells and Jenkins fully participated in practice on Friday.

Rams list Scott Wells, Janoris Jenkins as probable, E.J. Gaines doubtful
The St. Louis Rams have listed center Scott Wells (back) and cornerback Janoris Jenkins (back) as probable for Sunday's game against the Seahawks after both were able to participate fully in practice Friday. Cornerback E.J. Gaines, who is dealing with a concussion, is considered doubtful for the game. If he is unable to go, rookie Lamarcus Joyner or Marcus Roberson could see an uptick in playing time. The Rams 12 1/2-point underdogs against the Seahawks Sunday.

Rams sticking with C Scott Wells despite bad snaps
St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher said he is sticking with center Scott Wells despite two errant shotgun snaps in Sunday's loss to the Giants, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Wells has played with an elbow brace since hurting his elbow Oct. 26. "We're gonna go forward with Scott," Fisher told the paper. "Scott does a good job inside communicating, identifying things, getting protections called."

The St. Louis Rams enter Week 16 against the Giants relatively healthy, listing only three players on its final injury report. Guard Davin Joseph (not injury related), defensive end Chris Long (ankle) and center Scott Wells (not injury related) were all deemed probable.

The St. Louis Rams will have nearly all of their probable players Week 15 against the Cardinals. Kenny Britt and James Laurinaitis are two of the bigger names on the list. Britt was listed on the injury report, though his issue was not injury related. Laurinaitis is dealing with an ankle injury. The team will also have Cory Harkey, Will Herring, Rodger Saffold and Scott Wells. All four players came into the contest listed as probable.

Chris Long questionable on final Rams' Week 15 injury report
St. Louis Rams defensive end Chris Long was listed as questionable to play Thursday on the team's final injury report for Week 15's matchup with the Cardinals. "He was OK," Rams coach Jeff Fisher told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch after practice. "We'll see how he is in the warmups tomorrow, but we're very optimistic about it." The rest of the Rams' injured players were listed as probable after participating fully in practice Wednesday. That list includes center Scott Wells (elbow), guard Rodger Saffold (shoulder), linebacker James Laurinaitis (ankle), defensive tackle Alex Carrington (thigh), linebacker Will Herring (foot), tight end Cory Harkey (knee) and receiver Kenny Britt (not injury related).

Tavon Austin among probables for Rams in Week 14
St. Louis Rams wide receiver Tavon Austin was a late addition to the Rams’ Week 14 injury report. Austin practiced in full Wednesday and Thursday, but was a limited participant Friday with a back injury. Rookie cornerback Marcus Roberson (ankle) was unable to practice all week and was the only player on the report ruled as doubtful. Defensive end Eugene Sims missed practice all week due to a death in the family, but is expected to play, per the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He was deemed as probable. Defensive back Lamarcus Joyner (groin) and defensive tackle Alex Carrington (thigh) are questionable.
