    Kevin Huber: Announces retirement

    Kevin Huber announced Friday that he plans to retire from the NFL, Haadiza Ogwude and Kelsey Conwayof the Cincinnati Enquirer report.Huber, who joined the Bengals as a fifth-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, holds the franchise record for most games played, having suited up for 216 regular-season contests over the course of 14 seasons, including nine in 2022. With Huber no longer in the mix, Cincinnati's current punting options are 2023 sixth-rounder Brad Robbins and returnee Drue Chrisman.

    Kevin Huber: Inked to Cincy's practice squad

    The Bengals signed Kevin Huber to the practice squad Wednesday.Huber was Cincinnati's initial starting punter for the 2022 campaign, but he was waived by the team Monday. Drue Chrisman beat Huber out for the No. 1 gig early December after having been elevated for game action three times. Huber, the Bengals career leader in almost every punting metric, will stick with the practice squad and could resurface at a later date.

    Kevin Huber was waived by the Bengals on Monday, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.Huber was in the middle of his 14th season with the Bengals. The veteran punter had struggled this year, averaging just 43.2 yards per punt, which is tied with his rookie season for a career worst. The 37-year-old was benched in favor of Drue Chrisman after Week 9, who has gone on to average 51.2 yards per punt in three games. Whether Huber will pursue opportunities with other teams once he clears waivers is unknown.

    As the Cincinnati Bengals prepare to open training camp this week, they placed nine players on the Physically Unable to Perform list and another three on the Non-Football Injury list. All 12 players can come off both lists at any time.  Defensive tackle Geno Atkins (knee), cornerback Leon Hall (Achilles), guard Clint Boling (knee), linebacker Marquis Flowers (hamstring), punter Kevin Huber (neck), receiver Colin Lockett (hamstring), defensive tackle Zach Minter (back), defensive tackle Devon Still (back) and receiver Ryan Whalen (hamstring) all were placed on PUP.  In addition to receiver Marvin Jones (ankle), who might not be seriously hurt, the Bengals placed cornerback Onterio McCalebb (ankle) and quarterback AJ McCarron (shoulder) on their NFI list.

    Bengals sign punter T.J. Conley

    The Cincinnati Bengals signed free agent punter T.J. Conley on Wednesday.  Conley punted in 16 games for the Jets in 2011. He averaged 42.7 yards on 92 punts, and his 38.8-yard net average was the highest in Jets history. He had 32 inside-20 kicks with just six touchbacks, and his plus-26 differential on inside-20s to touchbacks ranked tied for third in the NFL.Conley did not play in the 2012 or 2013 regular seasons. He was with the Jets in the 2012 preseason and with Cleveland in the 2013 preseason. Conley will challenge incumbent Kevin Huber for the starting job, but most likely he won't make the final roster.

    The Cincinnati Bengals announced Tuesday they signed former Bills punter Shawn Powell to replace punter Kevin Huber, who landed on injured reserve after suffering a fractured jaw Sunday against the Steelers.
