Darrell Stuckey (knee) was released by the San Diego Chargers on Friday following a failed physical, Eric D. Williams of ESPN reports.The veteran began training camp on the physically unable to perform list due to a knee injury suffered in the final game of the regular season last year. Stuckey spent his first seven seasons with the Chargers, but was scheduled to make $2.9 million in the final year of his contract as mainly a special teams player.

San Diego Chargers defensive back Darrell Stuckey recovered a fumble Sunday and returned it 53 yards for a touchdown in his team's 23-14 loss to the Patriots in Week 14. The Patriots faced a third-and-short from midfield and completed a pass to Brandon LaFell, who fumbled the ball while crossing the first-down marker. Stuckey picked the ball up and took it the other way to give the Chargers a 14-3 lead, with the play standing on review. However, the offense was unable to score again and the defense couldn't keep the Patriots at bay for the entire 60 minutes. The Chargers face another tough test in Week 15 when they face the Broncos.

Chargers list 16 players on Week 6 injury report
The San Diego Chargers listed 16 players on their final injury report leading up to Week 6 at Oakland. Running backs Donald Brown (concussion) and Ryan Mathews (knee), along with linebacker Manti Te'o (foot) and cornerback Shareece Wright (knee) were ruled out for Sunday. Deemed questionable were the following players: wide receiver Malcom Floyd (calf), tackle D.J. Fluker (ankle), outside linebackers Jarret Johnson (back, ankle) and Cordarro Law (ankle), offensive lineman Rich Ohrnberger (back), safety Darrell Stuckey (quad) and linebacker Reggie Walker (ankle). Wide receiver Keenan Allen (quad), outside linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu (hamstring) and Dwight Freeney (knee), inside linebacker Donald Butler (shoulder) and tight end David Johnson (knee, shoulder) were the only players ruled probable for the game.
