  • Jets' Austin Seibert: Picked up by Jets

Seibert signed with the Jets' practice squad and was elevated to the active roster Saturday, and he's expected to kick in place of Greg Zuerlein (groin) in Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Seibert kicked in three games for the Lions last season. He went 3-for-5 on field-goal attempts and 12-for-12 on extra points. The veteran has had also had stints with the Browns and Bengals. He has mainly been a fill-in option for teams since starting 16 games in Cleveland during his rookie campaign in 2019. Seibert will revert back to the practice squad Monday.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Not playing Sunday

Zuerlein (groin) has been downgraded to out and will not play Sunday against the Cowboys.

The Jets chose to sign Austin Seibert to the practice squad to replace Zuerlein. Expect more news to surface regarding Zuerlein's availability for future weeks in due time.

  • Jake Elliott K | PHI

Eagles' Jake Elliott: Good from 61 yards

Elliott converted all four of his extra-point attempts and two of his three field-goal tries in Thursday's victory over the Vikings.

While Elliott did miss one kick, a miss from 55 yards is hardly unforgivable, especially when Elliott converted a 61-yarder as time expired in the first half. The distance was impressive, though arguably more important for his fantasy value was the fact that he was again fairly busy. After only once attempting three or more field goals in a game last year, Elliott has done that in each of the first two weeks this season.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Questionable with groin injury

Zuerlein (groin) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Dallas, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Zuerlein didn't practice Friday while tending to a groin injury in his right (kicking) leg. The Jets are expected to sign a kicker to their practice squad Friday or Saturday to have an insurance option on hand in the event that Zuerlein isn't able to play in Sunday's game, which kicks off at 4:25 p.m. ET. Zuerlein is coming off a productive Week 1 game in which he knocked down his lone extra-point attempt and all three of his field-goal tries in the Jets' 22-16 overtime win over the Bills.

  • Graham Gano K | NYG

Giants' Graham Gano: Cleared for Week 2

Gano (ankle) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Gano sustained a right ankle injury in this past Sunday's 40-0 loss to the Cowboys, which may have contributed to him having a 45-yard attempt blocked and returned for a touchdown in the first quarter and pushing a 36-yard attempt wide left in the second quarter. The veteran kicker was limited in practices Wednesday and Thursday, but after upgrading to full activity Friday, the Giants are apparently convinced he'll be ready to go for their Week 2 matchup. Gano will get a favorable spot to rebound against a Cardinals squad that allowed 21 first downs to a below-average Commanders offense in the season opener.

  • Greg Joseph K | LV

Vikings' Greg Joseph: Just one FGA through two games

Joseph didn't attempt a field goal but made all four PAT tries in Thursday's 34-28 loss to the Eagles.

Joseph has attempted just one field goal through two games, as Minnesota has been effective at punching in touchdowns while simultaneously struggling with turnovers en route to an 0-2 start. Punt returner Brandon Powell fumbled in field-goal range in the first quarter, and Justin Jefferson had a fumble go through the end zone for a touchback in the final minute of the first half, erasing what could have been a pair of potential opportunities for the 29-year-old kicker.

  • Jets' Greg Zuerlein: Looking 50/50 for Week 2

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Friday that Zuerlein (groin) has a "50-50" chance to suit up Sunday at Dallas, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.

Zuerlein won't practice Friday, and he looks as though he may be a game-time decision heading into Sunday's contest, which kicks off at 4:25 p.m. ET. The Jets could tip their hand about Zuerlein's availability (or lack thereof) if they choose to add a kicker to the 53-man roster ahead of Saturday's deadline for Week 2 transactions. The Jets seem to at least be preparing for the possibility of a Zuerlein absence, as the team will begin working out kickers Friday and presumably sign one to the practice squad.

  • Graham Gano K | NYG

Giants' Graham Gano: Limited again Thursday

Gano (ankle) remained limited in Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Gano's injury is to his kicking ankle, so it certainly bears watching ahead of Sunday's date with the Cardinals. Coach Brian Daboll has expressed optimism that Gano will be able to kick in Arizona.

  • Graham Gano K | NYG

Giants' Graham Gano: Working through ankle injury

Gano was a limited participant at practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

The injury that Gano dealt with in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys had been labeled as a calf issue, but the Giants' first Week 2 practice report classified the kicker's injury differently. Regardless, head coach Brian Daboll expressed confidence that Gano will be available to kick in this weekend's game at Arizona. He'll have two more opportunities to log a full practice before Sunday's contest.

  • Graham Gano K | NYG

Giants' Graham Gano: Injury severity downplayed

Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Wednesday that Gano (calf) will be limited in practice but should be fine for Sunday's game at Arizona, Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic reports.

Gano injured his calf in the Giants' Week 1 loss to the Cowboys, but his ability to practice in any capacity Wednesday bodes well for his chances of being ready to go by the time the weekend arrives. The 36-year-old misfired on both of his field-goal tries in Week 1 as the Giants were shut out, 40-0.
