Matthew Wright K | HOU
Steelers' Matthew Wright: Taking over for injured Boswell
Wright will step in as Pittsburgh's kicker beginning with Sunday's game against the Saints after Chris Boswell (groin) was placed on injured reserve Thursday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Wright had already been expected to handle kicking duties this weekend after the Steelers signed him off the Chiefs' practice squad Wednesday, but Boswell's move to IR gives the former a more extended opportunity. Boswell will have to spend a minimum of four games on IR, clearing the way for Wright to continue to build on what's been a strong start to his NFL career. Despite having bounced around the league since going undrafted in 2019, Wright has converted 28 of his 32 field-goal attempts (87.5 percent) over 19 career games with the Steelers, Jaguars and Chiefs.

Chris Boswell K | PIT
Steelers' Chris Boswell: Lands on IR
Pittsburgh placed Boswell (groin) on injured reserve Thursday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
The Steelers' decision to sign another kicker (Matthew Wright) off the Chiefs' practice squad Wednesday already seemed to signal that Boswell wasn't on track to play Sunday against the Saints, but Boswell's move to IR means that he'll be sidelined for at least four games on account of the groin injury. Boswell, who sat out the Steelers' Week 8 loss to the Eagles before Pittsburgh went on bye Week 9, won't be eligible to return until the team's Dec. 11 matchup with the Ravens in Week 14.

Steelers' Chris Boswell: Sits out practice again
Boswell (groin) didn't practice Thursday, Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Boswell picked up a groin injury ahead of Pittsburgh's Week 8 loss to the Eagles and has now missed his second straight practice to open Week 10. The 31-year-old's inability to participate coming off the Steelers' Week 9 bye week is a very discouraging sign for his availability, and he'll have just one more practice to increase his activity before Sunday's contest against New Orleans. Boswell converted 12 of his 16 field-goal attempts and all nine point-after tries over the first seven games of the season, and his absence would leave Matthew Wright, who was signed off the Chiefs' practice squad Wednesday, to take over as Pittsburgh's starting kicker

Matt Prater K | BUF
Cardinals' Matt Prater: Stays limited by hip issue
Prater (hip) was a limited participant at Wednesday's walk-through session, Kevin Parrish Jr. of the Cardinals' official site reports.
It's no surprise that Prater continues to show up on Arizona practice reports after sitting out Weeks 5 through 7 due to a right hip injury. When available this season, he's been accurate, making all eight field-goal attempts and all nine point-after tries in six appearances, but that amounts to a measly 5.5 points per game. Assuming he gets rid of his designation by week's end, Prater will be looking to replicate his best performance of the season from Week 4, when he hit all four of his field-goal tries against Sunday's opponent, the Rams, in that contest.

Dustin Hopkins K | CLE
Chargers' Dustin Hopkins: Not practicing Wednesday
Hopkins (hamstring) didn't practice Wednesday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Hopkins has been sidelined for two straight games due to a hamstring injury. He'll have two more opportunities to practice before the team needs to make a decision on his status for Sunday's matchup against the 49ers.

Chris Boswell K | PIT
Steelers' Chris Boswell: Fails to practice Wednesday
Boswell (groin) didn't practice Wednesday, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Boswell was sidelined for Week 8 due to a groin issue and still isn't ready to practice following the team's Week 9 bye. The veteran kicker will have two more opportunities to participate before the team needs to make a decision on his status for Sunday's matchup against the Saints, but the Steelers already seem to be preparing for him to miss the contest. Pittsburgh signed Matthew Wright to the 53-man roster Wednesday, which suggests the team doesn't believe Boswell will play Week 10.

Matthew Wright K | HOU
Steelers' Matthew Wright: Catches on with Steelers
Pittsburgh signed Wright off Kansas City's practice squad Wednesday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Wright made his NFL debut with the Steelers in 2020, but he's since had stints with the Jaguars and Chiefs, the latter of whom he appeared with in two games earlier this season. Over 19 career NFL games, Wright has converted 28 of 32 field-goal attempts and 28 of 30 extra-point tries. The Steelers' decision to sign him suggests that he'll likely serve as the team's kicker Week 10 against the Saints while Chris Boswell continues to tend to a groin injury following Pittsburgh's bye week.

Wil Lutz K | DEN
Saints' Wil Lutz: Hits all three kicks
Lutz made both of his field-goal attempts as well as his only extra-point try in Monday night's 27-13 loss to the Ravens.
Lutz converted from 33 and 37 yards on his field goals. The veteran now sports 62 points on the campaign, tying for the 10th-most at his position league-wide.

Jason Myers K | SEA
Seahawks' Jason Myers: Perfect in win
Myers made his only field-goal attempt and all four of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 31-21 win over the Cardinals.
Myers hit a 49-yarder on his only field goal. The veteran has missed just two of 45 total kicks this season, helping him accumulate 79 points. That figure leads all players at his position league-wide.
