Texans' Joey Slye: Misses late FGA

Slye missed his lone field-goal attempt and went 3-for-3 on extra-point kicks in Sunday's 31-21 loss to Cleveland.

Slye was wide left from 41 yards out with just over two minutes left, negating the Texans' attempted comeback from a 10-point deficit. It was his first miss in five tries this season. Slye's expected to be Houston's placekicker until Ka'imi Fairbairn (leg) is ready and can be reinstated from injured reserve.

  • Panthers' Zane Gonzalez: Misses two kicks

Gonzalez missed one of his three field-goal attempts as well as one of his three extra-point tries in Sunday's 26-7 win over the Saints.

Gonzalez could be on shaky ground after just one appearance for the Panthers, which have already cut two kickers for being inconsistent this season. Although Gonzalez converted from 20 and 42 yards on his respective field-goal makes, he had a 55-yarder blocked before missing a PAT in the fourth quarter. While it remains to be seen whether Gonzalez will stick with Carolina, the quick turnaround ahead of Thursday's game versus Houston could bode in his favor.

  • Browns' Chase McLaughlin: Perfect with little to do

McLaughlin successfully converted his lone field-goal attempt and all three extra-point kicks in Sunday's 31-21 win over Houston.

Through two weeks, McLaughlin hasn't had much to do. Week 2's field goal came on his first attempt of the season, as the Browns have scored touchdowns on six of seven drives that reached the red zone. McLaughlin's made all of his extra-point tries, and on his kickoffs that have been returned, the opponents' average starting field position has been the 20-yard line.

  • Jake Elliott K | PHI

Eagles' Jake Elliott: Tallies just three points in loss

Elliott made one of his two field-goal attempts but did not get an extra-point try in Sunday's 17-11 loss to the 49ers.

Elliott capped off the Eagles' second drive of the game with a 45-yarder to start the day's scoring. His second attempt came in the second quarter but was blocked, and he wouldn't be heard from again as the Eagles only scored once more in the contest and went for two when they did. So far, the Memphis product's season is looking a lot like his 2020, when he attempted more than two field goals just once all year.

  • Steelers' Chris Boswell: Drills 56-yard field goal

Boswell made his lone field-goal attempt while converting both of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 26-17 loss to the Raiders.

Boswell was perfect on five kicks in last week's season opener, and he remained perfect against the Raiders. He drilled a 56-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter to bring the Steelers within one possession, but the team was unable to capitalize down the stretch. The 30-year-old has now made four field-goal attempts and four extra-point tries across his first two appearances in 2021.

  • Cairo Santos K | CHI

Bears' Cairo Santos: Tallies eight points

Santos connected on two field goals and two extra points in the Bears' 20-17 win over the Bengals on Sunday.

With the Chicago offense breaking down twice in the red zone, Santos made a pair of field goals from inside 30 yards. After two games, he has just 10 points, and unless the Bears offense starts to be more explosive, Santos may be difficult to trust in weekly fantasy lineups.

  • Nick Folk K | ATL

Patriots' Nick Folk: Promoted to active roster

Folk was elevated from the practice squad Saturday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

This was to be expected as Quinn Nordin (abdomen) was moved to injured reserve. Expect to see Folk officially sign with the active roster next week as the veteran kicker is out of practice squad elevations.

  • Joey Slye K | TEN

Texans' Joey Slye: Set to be top kicker

Slye was elevated from Houston's practice squad Saturday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.

Slye drilled all three of his attempts in the season opener and he'll be slated to be the top kicker once more with Ka'imi Fairbairn (leg) still sidelined. Slye will likely officially join the active roster next week, as he's now out of practice squad elevations.

  • Nick Folk K | ATL

    Nick Folk: Another promotion looming

With Quinn Nordin (abdomen) ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jets, look for Folk to be elevated from the Patriots' practice squad to the team's active roster ahead of the contest.

It's an assignment that Folk could hold on to in the coming weeks, with Ian Rapoport of NFL Network suggesting that Nordin is a candidate to go on IR. Either way, Folk -- who made all three of his field-goal attempts in the the team's Week 1 loss to the Dolphins, en route to recording 10 points -- is on track to kick again for New England this weekend, and likely beyond.

  • Football Team's Dustin Hopkins: Connects on game-winning kick

Hopkins made all three of his extra points and all three of his field goals -- including a 43-yard game-winner as time expired -- during Thursday's 30-29 win over the Giants.

All three of Hopkins' field goals came in the second half after the Giants took a 20-14 lead. The teams exchanged field goals on four consecutive possessions before Washington claimed the lead with a two-play, 75-yard drive to take a 27-26 lead. After the Giants responded with a field goal, Taylor Heinicke led an 11-play drive that set Hopkins up for the 43-yard game-winning kick as time expired. The 30-year-old is a perfect 6-for-6 from inside 50 yards this season.
