  • Joey Slye K | TEN

Panthers' Joey Slye: Another miss Saturday

Slye missed from 37 yards but later converted a 41-yard field goal during Saturday's 20-3 preseason loss to the Ravens.

Slye has missed three kicks in Carolina's two preseason outings thus far, a less-than-ideal start to the campaign following some erraticism last term. After the game, coach Matt Rhule acknowledged Slye's struggles and hopes he'll get over the hump soon, Joseph Person of The Athletic reports. As a result, it'll be interesting to see how Slye, who has been the Panthers' kicker the past two years, fares in Friday's exhibition finale versus the Steelers.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Perfect again

Fairbairn made two of two field-goal attempts and both extra points in Saturday's 20-14 win over Dallas in Preseason Week 2.

Fairbairn has converted all six field-goal tries over the first two preseason games and is poised for a potentially productive season, if the offense fails to finish drives. Houston's offense stumbled for a second straight week, producing its lone touchdown after the defense forced a turnover on the Cowboys' first drive of the game.

  • Colts' Eddy Pineiro: Converts all three FG attempts

Pineiro made all three of his field-goal attempts from 31, 50 and 28 yards, in Saturday's preseason win over Minnesota.

Both Rodrigo Blankenship and Pineiro have been nearly perfect in training camp and the preseason. Blankenship will likely retain this starting job from last season unless he stumbles however. Pineiro could draw interest from other NFL teams if he has another strong preseason game next week.

  • Colts' Rodrigo Blankenship: Makes 47-yard FG

Blankenship converted his only field goal attempt from 47 yards in Saturday's preseason win at Minnesota.

Both Blankenship and Eddy Pineiro have been nearly perfect in training camp and the preseason. Blankenship will likely retain this starting job from last season unless he stumbles. He had a solid rookie campaign, missing only five kicks (including PATs) inside of 50 yards. However, he had a key 33-yard misfire late in the third quarter against Buffalo during the playoffs.

  • Jason Myers K | SEA

    Seahawks' Jason Myers: Drills 40-yarder

Myers connected on his lone field-goal attempt -- a 40-yard kick -- during Saturday's 30-3 preseason loss to the Broncos.

The Seahawks didn't bring in any competition for Myers after the 30-year-old made all 24 field-goal attempts last season, including 15 from beyond 40 yards. Myers should be selected as a starter in fantasy this season.

  • Brett Maher K | LAR

Brett Maher: Waived with injury settlement

Maher (groin) was waived from injured reserve by the Saints with an injury settlement Saturday, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports.

Maher was on IR, but with this move New Orleans is responsible to pay him until he's healed. The 31-year-old hasn't played in the NFL since 2019, and his future in the league is uncertain.

  • Jake Elliott K | PHI

Eagles' Jake Elliott: Unlikely to play Thursday

Elliott (ankle) isn't in uniform ahead of Thursday's preseason game against the Patriots, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Currently, Elliott is considered day-to-day with an ankle injury, so he likely isn't dealing with anything too serious. But it appears the Eagles are exercising caution and will keep the fifth-year pro on the sidelines for their second exhibition. Elliott was in form in preseason Week 1 versus the Steelers, converting from 47, 47 and 50 yards on his field-goal attempts.

  • Cowboys' Greg Zuerlein: Remains on track for Week 1

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday that Zuerlein (back) is still on track for Week 1, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.

The Cowboys' decision to sign kicker Lirim Hajrullahu has to do with Zuerlein's main camp competition, Hunter Niswander ,"having an issue," according to McCarthy. Zuerlein, meanwhile, hasn't experienced any setbacks in his recovery from offseaosn back surgery and has recently started to ramp up his activity, including handling some kicking reps at practice. Dallas' roster moves all through the offseason have reflected confidence in Zuerlein's chances of suiting up in the Sept. 9 season opener at Tampa Bay.

  • Brett Maher K | LAR

Saints' Brett Maher: Reverts to IR

Maher (groin) reverted to the Saints' injured reserve Tuesday, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Maher picked up a groin injury shortly after signing with New Orleans on Aug. 9, and he'll shift to injured reserve after being waived/injured Monday. The Saints will need to bring in another kicker to fill in for Wil Lutz, who is expected to be sidelined into October after undergoing core muscle surgery.

  • Vikings' Riley Patterson: Reverts to injured reserve

Patterson (undisclosed) cleared waivers and reverted to Minnesota's injured reserve Tuesday, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Patterson was waived/injured by the Vikings on Monday and will remain with the organization after passing through the waiver wire unclaimed. He'll remain on injured reserve all season unless an injury settlement is reached with the team.
