Chris Boswell K | PIT
Steelers' Chris Boswell: Inks five-year deal
Boswell has signed a five-year contract with the Steelers, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.
Boswell, who earned Pro Bowl recognition last year after connecting on 35 of 38 field-goal attempts and 37 of 39 extra-point tries, is thus set to reprise his kicking duties for the Steelers for the foreseeable future. His fantasy prospects look strong for the coming season, thanks to the fact that he'll be working within a team context that features a prolific offense paced by the trio of Ben Roethlesberger, Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown.

Matt Bryant K | ATL
Falcons' Matt Bryant: Listed as game-time decision
Bryant (undisclosed) is considered a game-time decision for Saturday's preseason contest, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
Bryant reportedly kicked during Wednesday's practice, suggesting there is optimism moving forward. At 43 years old, you would be hard-pressed to squeeze any more experience into Bryant's leg. Atlanta doesn't appear concerned with his immediate progression and likely values his availability for Week 1 ahead of any preseason reps.

Jason Myers K | SEA
Jets' Jason Myers: Competing with Bertolet
Myers is slated to compete with Taylor Bertolet for the Jets' kicking job, Darryl Slater of NJ.com reports.
Cairo Santos entered training camp positioned to replace the departed Chandler Catanzaro as the team's kicker, but he was waived by the team this week. That paves the way for Myers to make a run for the job after he was claimed off waivers from the Seahawks on Tuesday. Myers' past NFL experience could well give him a leg up in the competition, given that Bertolet has yet to appear in a regular-season contest.

Cairo Santos K | CHI
Cairo Santos: Will be released
The Jets will release Santos (groin) on Wednesday now that he's fully healthy, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Santos couldn't stay healthy enough during the evaluation period to make his case for a 53-man spot, so his run with the Jets will come to a close. He will be free to latch on with another team.

Eddy Pineiro K | SF
Raiders' Eddy Pineiro: Remains sidelined
Pinerio (groin) missed his third consecutive practice Tuesday, Matt Schneidman of the Mercury News reports.
Along with his missed practices, Pineiro was also sidelined for the Raiders' most recent exhibition loss to the Rams. While the rookie appeared to have an upper leg over Mike Nugent in the kicking competition, an extended absence could derail his hopes to win the role. The battle will need to be monitored going forward.

Tyler Davis K | BUF
Tyler Davis: Let go by Buffalo
Davis was released Tuesday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Stephen Hauschka was always going to win the kicking job unless he suffered an injury, so we suppose this gives Davis a head start on finding work elsewhere before more sweeping cuts are made around the league.

Matt Bryant K | ATL
Falcons' Matt Bryant: Will kick Wednesday
Bryant (undisclosed) will return to practice Wednesday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Bryant's absence shouldn't have any implications on his status with the team, given his consistent history as the team's placekicker. However, it's given rookie David Marvin an opportunity to showcase his ability in the preseason.

Cairo Santos K | CHI
Jets' Cairo Santos: Likely done in New York
Santos (groin) appears to have fallen out of the Jets' kicker competition, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.
With Santos hindered by yet another groin injury, the Jets claimed Jason Myers off waivers to compete with Taylor Bertolet. It's probably only a matter of time until the team releases Santos with an injury settlement.

Jason Myers K | SEA
Jason Myers: Claimed by Jets
The Jets claimed Myers off waivers Tuesday, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.
Myers was waived by the Seahawks on Monday, losing out to Sebastian Janikowski for the kicker job in Seattle. The 27-year-old will now try to make an impression in New York, where he figures to compete with Taylor Bertolet after Cairo Santos dropped out of the mix due to a groin injury. Regardless of which player wins the job, there isn't much reason to consider rostering a kicker from the Jets.

Zane Gonzalez K | ATL
Browns' Zane Gonzalez: Has leg up in kicking battle
Gonzalez seems to have distanced himself in the battle for the Browns' starting kicker job, Nate Ulrich of The Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Gonzalez is currently competing with fellow kicker Ross Martin for the starting job, and the two had a kicking competition during Monday's practice. Gonzalez went 5-for-5 on his attempts, while Martin missed two that hit each upright. Head coach Hue Jackson took the competition very seriously, saying while game performance is what matters, performance in practice is an indicator of what could happen in a game.
