Tua Tagovailoa QB | ATL
Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Back at practice Friday
Tagovailoa (illness) is at practice Friday, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
The rookie first-round pick was unable to practice the past two days due to the illness, but he's back on the field Friday. It remains unclear if Tagovailoa will be ready to go for Sunday's matchup with the Seahawks, or if Reid Sinnett will need to be promoted from the practice squad to serve as Ryan Fitzpatrick's backup.

Jimmy Garoppolo QB | LAR
49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo: Not yet ruled out
GM John Lynch said Garoppolo (ankle) "still has a chance" to play Sunday against the Eagles if he's able to practice Friday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
The 28-year-old has been unable to practice so far this week, but if he can take the field Friday and show he can protect himself despite the ankle injury, he may be able to play. It doesn't seem overly likely Garoppolo is able to do that given his lack of practice reps thus far, but he's yet to be officially ruled out. Nick Mullins appears set to receive a second straight start at quarterback for San Francisco.

Sam Darnold QB | SEA
Jets' Sam Darnold: Takes bruising in Week 4 loss
Darnold (shoulder) completed 23 of 42 passes for 230 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in the Jets' 37-28 loss to the Broncos on Thursday. He also rushed six times for 84 yards and a touchdown.
Darnold had a solid fantasy effort overall in terms of total yards, but the fact he had to exit the game for a period of time in the first half with a shoulder injury and ended up taking six sacks and 10 total quarterback hits underscores how difficult a night it was for him from a physical standpoint. The third-year signal-caller did continue to demonstrate excellent chemistry with Jamison Crowder, who he connected with on seven occasions for 104 yards. Darnold also encouragingly found second-year wideout Jeff Smith for seven of his completions, giving him another reliable target in what has been a relatively thin pass-catching corps. However, pass protection clearly continued to be one of the biggest culprits in New York's lack of continuity on offense, and Darnold will have a difficult time maximizing his talent while that remains the case. He and his teammates will look to regroup ahead of a Week 5 home matchup against the Cardinals on Sunday, Oct. 11. Coach Adam Gase said following Thursday's loss that Darnold suffered a right shoulder sprain, per Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York, but the fact that the young signal-caller was able to play through the injury provides reason to hope that his availability for Week 5 isn't in serious danger.

Brett Rypien QB | MIN
Broncos' Brett Rypien: Overcomes three-interception night
Rypien completed 19 of 31 passes for 242 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions in the Broncos' 37-28 win over the Jets on Thursday. He also rushed for minus-5 yards on five carries.
Rypien had quite the rollercoaster of a first NFL start, providing a fair share of highlights and regrettable moments during the surprisingly high-scoring win. The Boise State product almost derailed the game with a pair of second-half interceptions over a span of four attempts, with one of the picks being returned for a touchdown by Pierre Desir to bring the Jets to within 27-25 with 10:45 remaining. However, to his credit, Rypien righted the ship by subsequently leading a pivotal nine-play, 40-yard drive highlighted by a 31-yard completion to Tim Patrick that put the ball in field-goal range. Rypien also connected with rookie Jerry Jeudy earlier in the game on a 48-yard score, and outside of the miscues, he performed serviceably for a first-time starter that traveled a pair of time zones to play on a short week. He'll now have extra time to prepare for what could be a Week 5 start on the road against the Patriots on Sunday, Oct. 11 unless Drew Lock (shoulder) is deemed ready to return for that contest.

Sam Darnold QB | SEA
Jets' Sam Darnold: Back in action Thursday
Darnold (shoulder) has re-entered Thursday's game against the Broncos, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Darnold briefly left Thursday's contest due to what appeared to be a serious shoulder injury, but the Jets' doctors quickly cleared him to return to the field. The third-year pro had a 46-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, and he'll look to keep providing New York's offense with a spark now that he's back in the game.

Sam Darnold QB | SEA
Jets' Sam Darnold: Leaves game with injury
Darnold exited Thursday's contest against the Broncos due to an apparent shoulder injury, Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports.
Darnold was thrown down on his shoulder while being sacked late in the first quarter. The third-year signal-caller has headed to the locker room with trainers, so in the meantime Joe Flacco will line up under center for the Jets.

Mike White QB | CAR
Mike White: Cut by Jets
The Jets cut White on Thursday, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.
White's place with the Jets became jeopardized by Joe Flacco's return to full health. He could have a chance to resurface on the team's practice squad as an emergency quarterback option.

Jimmy Garoppolo QB | LAR
49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo: Missing another practice
Garoppolo (ankle) isn't present for Thursday's practice, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Garoppolo is destined to go down as a non-participant for the 49ers' second straight practice of Week 4, leaving him trending in the wrong direction for Sunday's game against the Eagles. According to David Lombardi of The Athletic, head coach Kyle Shanahan said Garoppolo would only need to go through one live period of practice this week to have a shot at playing Sunday, but since Friday's session will be a walkthrough, the quarterback looks to have ran out of opportunities to prove his health. Expect Nick Mullens to pick up another start under center this weekend.

Tua Tagovailoa QB | ATL
Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: In line for another absence
Tagovailoa remains unlikely to practice Thursday due to a non-COVID-19-related illness, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
With Tagovailoa presumably in line to miss back-to-back practice sessions, his status for the Week 5 matchup against Seattle could ultimately end up in jeopardy due to a lack of reps. Should that end up being the case, Reid Sinnett would be the next man up from the practice squad.

Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN
Titans' Ryan Tannehill: Game won't be played Week 4
Tannehill and the Titans will not be taking on the Steelers in Week 4 after additional personnel within the organization have tested positive for COVID-19, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The initial plan was simply to reschedule the Oct. 4 matchup for Monday or Tuesday, but it now appears both teams will receive a Week 4 bye and the game will be rescheduled at a yet-to-be-determined date. Practice facilities will be closed in Tennessee until further notice after an additional player and personnel member returned positive tests, with a re-open unlikely until the outbreak has been contained.
