Gabbert will remain the Titans' backup quarterback for Monday's game against the Texans with starter Marcus Mariota (neck) avoiding an injury designation heading into the contest, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Gabbert looked like a candidate for his second start of the season in Week 12 after Mariota exited last weekend's loss to the Colts with what appeared to be an elbow injury. Mariota had previously missed his lone start due to a nerve issue with his throwing elbow, but he received positive news after the Week 11 contest when it was revealed that he was dealing with a neck stinger that was unrelated to his previous injury. The signal-caller proved his health by turning in full practices Friday and Saturday, leaving Gabbert to fill his familiar role as the No. 2 option.

Darnold (foot), who is already listed as out for Sunday's game against the Patriots, likely will miss the Jets' Week 13 contest in Tennessee as well, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Before the Jets decide on Darnold's fate for Week 13, they will see how his strained right foot responds to on-field work during practice sessions next Wednesday through Friday. While it's possible that Darnold could demonstrate enough progress for the Jets to sign off on his return next weekend, the prevailing belief is that the organization will take a more cautious approach with their 2018 first-round pick amid a non-contending season. Darnold, who has completed only 55 percent of his passes this season while throwing 14 interceptions in nine games, hasn't suited up since Week 9 and didn't heal as quickly as anticipated coming out of the team's Week 11 bye. Veteran Josh McCown will thus draw a second straight nod under center this weekend and should start for the duration of the rookie's absence.

Trubisky (shoulder) remains hopeful to suit up in the Bears' Week 13 game against the Giants but it's uncertain if he'll be available for that contest, a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Trubisky suffered an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder coming out of the Bears' Week 11 win over the Vikings, prompting the team to hold him out of the Thanksgiving Day victory over the Lions. Prior reports suggested that if the Bears had played Sunday rather than Thursday in Week 12 that Trubisky would have been ready to play, but Schefter's report suggests the second-year signal-caller isn't progressing from the injury as quickly as anticipated. The Bears will reassess Trubisky's condition when they reconvene for their next official practice Wednesday, at which point more clarity on his outlook for the Dec. 2 game against New York should be known.

Savage was waived by the 49ers on Friday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Savage's third stint with the 49ers comes to an end as the team promoted running back Jeff Wilson from the practice squad. Savage could rejoin the team again but is unlikely to find himself in a situation to play since Nick Mullens and C.J. Beathard are both currently healthy.

Mariota began the week as a limited practice participant but faced no limitations the past two days as he was dealing with some numbness in his right arm caused by a stinger. Coach Mike Vrabel indicated Friday the 25-year-old should return to his starting role given his full practice participation, and avoiding a setback Saturday clears the way for Monday's divisional tilt.

Barkley's teammate Josh Allen had a full week of practice this week and has been deemed fit to start Sunday against the Jaguars.

Barkley lit it up against the Jets in Week 10 ahead of the Bills' bye, but the future of this franchise lies in Allen's right arm so the former will step aside for the rookie, even though if the Bills had one win-at-all-costs game for one week, Barkely surprisingly might give them a better chance at winning given how comfortable he looked with the offense. With Derek Anderson unable to return from a concussion this week, Barkley is the clear-cut No. 2 should anything happen to the rookie against the Jaguars' still-dangerous defense.

Mariota (neck) progressed to a full practice Friday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.

ESPN's Turron Davenport relays that Mariota is on track to start Monday night's game against the Texans, though coach Mike Vrabel has yet to officially confirm that likely outcome. "I would imagine that Marcus is going to be the starting quarterback after being not limited, and full, and probably hope to start," Vrabel said of Mariota following Friday's practice. "It looked good today, but that's why you practice. You try to always improve and get better."

Jackson will make another start Sunday against the Raiders, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

With Joe Flacco (hip) still absent from practice and officially ruled out, Jackson will take aim at a defense ranked 32nd in yards allowed per pass attempt (8.9) and 26th in yards allowed per carry (4.8). The rookie has stated his desire to do more as a passer, but the Ravens may be just fine relying on their running game for a second straight week. Jackson had more carries (26) than pass attempts (19) in last week's 24-21 win over Cincinnati.

Allen (elbow) will start Sunday's game versus the Jaguars, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

A confirmed full practice participant all week, Allen has done enough to get the all-clear from coach Sean McDermott, who said Friday that the rookie would "start Sunday as long as he gets through today." As he prepares for his first game action since Week 6, Allen will be backed up by Matt Barkley after Derek Anderson (concussion) was ruled out yet again.

Darnold (foot) won't play Sunday against the Patriots.

With Darnold officially ruled out, Josh McCown will draw another start at QB for the Jets this weekend. Darnold's next shot to play will arrive in Week 13, when New York faces Tennessee on the road.
