Lamar Jackson QB | BAL
Ravens' Lamar Jackson: Shows promise in preseason debut
Jackson completed four of 10 passes for 33 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Thursday's Hall of Fame game against the Bears. He added 24 rushing yards on four carries.
While nothing spectacular, Jackson's performance had to be a pleasing sight for Ravens fans who saw the rookie flash upside as both a passer and running threat. The rookie started off by going three-and-out on his first drive, but he bounced back on his second by marching the Baltimore offense down the field with a few impressively-accurate throws and a Michael Vick-esque scramble, ultimately connecting with fellow first-rounder Hayden Hurst for a seven-yard touchdown. However, Jackson's third drive resulted in him getting picked off on a questionable pass down the sideline, reminding us of the work the Louisville product still needs to do as a signal caller. We'll get our next glimpse of Jackson during the Ravens second preseason game next Thursday against the Rams.

Nathan Peterman QB | ATL
Bills' Nathan Peterman: Falling behind to McCarron?
Peterman's teammate AJ McCarron took first-team reps at Bills practice for the second consecutive day Thursday, Joe Buscaglia of WKBW.com reports.
Peterman had been flip-flopping with McCarron in terms of practicing with the first team all the way back to minicamps, so there's a chance McCarron -- who has been the favorite to win the three-man job -- has started to pull ahead. Friday's full practice session will prove more telling. If we had to pick one of the three quarterbacks (seventh overall pick Josh Allen is the other contender) to lead the team for the first drive of the regular season, it'd be McCarron, but rest assured this is still a battle and all it often takes in this type of situation is one player having a stellar preseason game or string of practices. The team doesn't appear close to naming a concrete starter just yet.

Patrick Mahomes QB | KC
Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Struggling with turnovers early in camp
Mahomes has tossed seven interceptions in the Chiefs' first six training camp practices, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.
Mahomes still has plenty of time to work out the kinks before the regular season rolls around, but it certainly hasn't been an ideal start to his reign as the Chiefs' starting quarterback. The second-year signal-caller notably made a poor decision during Wednesday's session, throwing one of his two picks on the day in the end zone rather than running the ball in for what would have been an easy score. While Mahomes is off to a rocky start, the Chiefs have surrounded him with plenty of talent to help with the transition to No. 1 duties. Not only will Pro Bowlers Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill and Kareem Hunt return in 2018, but Kansas City also signed star wideout Sammy Watkins to a three-year contract in March. It's worth noting that Mahomes has looked his best in game action rather than practices, as he was highly impressive in the 2017 preseason and completed 22 of 35 passes for 284 yards and an interception in a Week 17 win over the Broncos last season. It may be best to see how he fares during the exhibition slate before drawing any conclusions about what lies ahead for him in his second NFL campaign.

Sam Darnold QB | SEA
Jets' Sam Darnold: Contract impasse ends
Darnold has ended his contract holdout, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Per the report, the rookie signal-caller -- who was not in attendance when the team began training camp Friday -- is expected to be at the Jets' facility Monday. Darnold's deal will slot in as a four-year contract worth $30.2 million. Now that he's in the fold, the No. 3 overall pick in April's draft is slated to compete with fellow quarterbacks Josh McCown and Teddy Bridgewater. For now, McCown tops the depth chart, as the Jets do not intend to hurry Darnold's development, but given the rookie's lofty draft status, it's only a matter of time before he ascends to the team's starting role.

Case Keenum QB | CHI
Broncos' Case Keenum: Finding his rhythm
Keenum was lockstep with his receivers on Sunday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reports
Several reporters have noted the reduction in balls hitting the turf to start this training camp as compared to those in recent years. Keenum's strengths are his quickness and accuracy, which play into what should be a horizontal Denver offense this season. That doesn't mean, however, that fans should expect Keenum to be Captain Checkdown. The veteran quarterback reportedly hit several receivers, including Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, with deep balls during Sunday's practice. All signs point to a significant upgrade at quarterback for the Broncos this season.

Sam Bradford QB | MIN
Cardinals' Sam Bradford: Taking all first-team reps
Bradford has been a full-go during training camp and taken all first-team reps, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Bradford had his health monitored closely throughout the Cardinals' offseason program, taking limited reps to try and reduce the wear on his surgically repaired left knee. However, with training camp in full swing, Bradford has increased his workload to include all drills as he prepares for the regular season. The ninth-year quarterback is expected to open the season as the Cardinals' starter, with Mike Glennon and rookie Josh Rosen in tow as backups. Rosen could get his shot before the end of the year if Bradford struggles or the Cardinals fail to compete for a playoff spot.

Tom Savage QB | DET
Saints' Tom Savage: Returns to practice following Friday's absence
Savage (undisclosed) returned to practice Saturday, John DeShazier of the Saints' official site reports.
Savage was forced to leave Friday's practice with an undisclosed injury. With the veteran quarterback back in the mix, it doesn't seem like there is too much concern moving forward. Savage currently holds the edge over both Taysom Hill and J.T. Barrett for the No. 2 quarterback position in New Orleans.

Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN
Dolphins' Ryan Tannehill: Practices with knee brace
Tannehill participated in Miami's first official practice of training camp Thursday wearing a brace on his surgically repaired left knee, Jeff Darlington of ESPN.com reports.
Tannehill, now nearly a year removed from his ACL tear, did not wear a brace during OTAs. Despite the reappearance of a brace, Tannehill confirmed after practice that his knee remains without issue. "I'm going to wear it in games, so [wearing it in practice] is just to get used to it," Tannehill said. Full participation in training camp is great news for the 30-year-old quarterback, who will use the time to build rapport with new receiving weapons Danny Amendola, Albert Wilson and Mike Gesicki.

Jameis Winston QB | NYG
Buccaneers' Jameis Winston: Takes reps with all three offensive units
Winston (suspension) received reps with all three offensive units during the Buccaneers' first practice of training camp Thursday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
Ryan Fitzpatrick opened with the first-team offense as expected, while Ryan Griffin started off directing the second-team group. However, it wasn't long before Winston started mixing in, eventually rotating in with all three offensive teams but logging the majority of his reps with the second unit according to Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times. While the entire scenario is far from ideal, Winston appears to be facing it with the right approach on the surface, remarking Thursday that the current circumstances will give him an opportunity to "lead behind the scenes" for the time being.

Colt McCoy QB | ARI
Redskins' Colt McCoy: Signs extension with Redskins
McCoy signed a one-year extension with the Redskins worth up to $7 million, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
McCoy is entering the final year of his previous deal, a three-year, $9 million contract he signed in 2016. His extension for 2019 has several clauses that will likely mean he makes less than $7 million if he operates as the backup once again, but the team appears to be content with McCoy as the backup to Alex Smith for the foreseeable future.
