Broncos head coach Vance Joseph said he expects Lynch (ankle) to receive full clearance to play in advance of the team's next game Dec. 24 against the Redskins, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.

If Joseph's prediction holds true, Lynch could warrant immediate consideration for the starting quarterback role, which opened up again after Trevor Siemian partially dislocated his left shoulder in Thursday's win over the Colts. That injury will sideline Siemian for the Broncos' final two games of the season, leaving Brock Osweiler, who relieved Siemian on Thursday, and Lynch as the team's only quarterbacks. Per Zac Stevens of BSNDenver.com, Joseph wasn't willing to commit to Osweiler as the team's starter in Week 16, so it appears the performance of both of the Broncos' quarterbacks in practice during the upcoming week will ultimately dictate who receives the nod against the Redskins. Given Lynch's standing as a recent first-round pick, he could have an edge over Osweiler for the starting role if his health checks out fine by the end of next week.

With only rest and rehab on the docket, Siemian should have a relatively normal offseason, but his underwhelming play this season likely has Denver turning its attention toward other starting options at quarterback in 2018. Brock Osweiler, who came on in relief for Siemian on Thursday, is currently positioned to start the Broncos' final two contests of 2017, but Paxton Lynch (ankle) could get another look if healthy enough to play in either game.

Though listed as a full practice participant Thursday and Friday, the Bills won't rush the quarterback through the NFL's concussion protocol. With Peterman sitting out this week, Joe Webb is poised to serve as the backup to Tyrod Taylor (knee), who will reclaim starting duties following a one-game absence.

Peterman is still going through concussion protocol in advance of Sunday's game against the Dolphins, while teammate Tyrod Taylor (knee) is healthy enough to reclaim starting duties this week, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.

Peterman can still be cleared ahead of Sunday's kickoff, but for fantasy purposes, he's not in play this week. At best, he'll serve as Taylor's backup.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott relayed Friday that Taylor (knee) will start at quarterback Sunday against the Dolphins, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.

Taylor was inactive for the Week 14 overtime win over the Colts, a game started by Nathan Peterman (who exited with a concussion) and finished by Joe Webb. The Bills' passing game has struggled to find consistency this season, but Taylor at least excels at avoiding turnovers and contributing with his rushing. His impact on the ground could be limited a bit more than normal coming off a knee injury, but Taylor's outlook in the passing game would be boosted by the presence of wideout Kelvin Benjamin (knee), who is considered day-to-day but in line to practice Friday.

The Texans promoted Heinicke to the 53-man roster Friday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Heinicke will back up T.J. Yates in Sunday's game against the Jaguars with Tom Savage (concussion) unavailable. If Savage recovers from the concussion in time to return for either of the Texans' final two games, Heinicke could be waived in order for Houston to address depth at other positions.

Brissett completed 17 of 30 passes for 158 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in Thursday's 25-13 loss to the Broncos. He also rushed five times for 18 yards and a touchdown.

The second-year signal caller was under 200 yards passing for the fourth straight game, and he hasn't managed a completion percentage above 60 percent since Week 9. The high point of Brissett's night came on a seven-yard first-quarter scoring run that capped off a seven-play, 50-yard drive, his fourth rushing touchdown of the season. Brissett's production in the last month has been largely underwhelming from a fantasy perspective, but he offers some solid rushing upside and has impressively limited his interceptions to only seven over 14 games. He'll look to improve his numbers versus the Ravens in Week 16.

Siemian took a hard hit from Barkevious Mingo in the first quarter, falling awkwardly on his left shoulder in the process. Before being carted to the locker room, Siemian was five of nine for 67 yards and an interception. Brock Osweiler, who takes over under center, is the only active quarterback left for the Broncos.
