  • Trevon Wesco TE | LV

Jets' Trevon Wesco: Cut at final roster deadline

Wesco was waived by the Jets on Tuesday, Randy Lange and Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.

Wesco was one of two tight ends -- along with Kenny Yeboah -- let go as part of the Jets' final roster cuts ahead of Tuesday's deadline. The 2019 fourth-round pick, who caught three passes for 35 yards over 12 games before suffering a season-ending knee injury in December, will now look to sign with new team heading into the 2022 campaign.

  • Matt Bushman TE | KC

Matt Bushman: Waived with injury designation

Kansas City waived Bushman (collarbone) with an injury designation Tuesday.

Bushman fractured his clavicle during Thursday's preseason finale against Green Bay. If he goes unclaimed on waivers, he'll revert to the Chiefs' injured reserve and will be forced to miss the entire season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the team.

  • Jalen Wydermyer: Let go by New England

The Patriots waived Wydermyer on Tuesday.

Wydermyer signed with the Patriots in mid-August, but he finds himself among a wave of cuts ahead of Tuesday's 53-man roster deadline. The 6-foot-5 tight end is still looking to make his NFL debut.

  • Matt Sokol TE | BUF

Matt Sokol: Waived by New England

The Patriots waived Sokol on Tuesday.

The Patriots completely overhauled their tight end room, leaving only Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith on the initial 53-man roster. The 26-year-old last played in the NFL with the Chargers in 2020, appearing in two games.

  • Lucas Krull TE | DEN

Lucas Krull: Cut by New Orleans

The Saints waived Krull on Tuesday.

Krull didn't appear in the preseason opener and had a seven-yard touchdown nullified in Week 2. The 6-foot-6 tight end signed with the Saints in May as an undrafted free agent out of Pittsburgh, where he finished his final collegiate campaign with 38 receptions for 451 yards and six touchdowns.

  • J.P. Holtz TE | NO

J.P. Holtz: Let go by New Orleans

The Saints waived Holtz on Tuesday.

The Saints don't have a headliner at tight end, but it is a deep group, which left Holtz as the odd man out. The undrafted pro out of Pittsburgh hasn't caught a pass since 2019, but his blocking prowess may draw the attention of a few teams.

  • Zach Davidson TE | NYG

    Zach Davidson: Waived by Vikings

Minnesota waived Davidson on Tuesday, Craig Peters of the Vikings' official website reports.

No surprise here, as Davidson figured to have long odds in terms of making the final roster. He was No. 4 on the tight end depth chart heading into roster cuts. This outcome mirrors last season, as he was cut by the Vikings during final cuts and subsequently spent the year on their practice squad.

  • Jared Pinkney TE | CHI

    Jared Pinkney: Waived by Rams

The Rams waived Pinkney on Tuesday, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.

Pinkney appeared in two games with the Lions last year but wasn't targeted. He landed a contract with the Rams in June but was unable to make the team's 53-man roster.

  • Sean McKeon TE | IND

    Sean McKeon: Waived by Dallas

The Cowboys waived McKeon (ankle) on Tuesday, Rob Phillips of the Cowboys' official site reports.

McKeon has appeared in 23 games for Dallas over the last two seasons, securing four of six targets for 27 yards and a touchdown during that time. However, he was unable to make the Cowboys' 53-man roster in 2022. He dealt with an ankle injury in practice last week, and it's not yet clear when he'll be back to full health. However, the 24-year-old wasn't waived with an injury designation, so he'll be free to sign elsewhere if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

  • Colin Thompson TE | MIN

Colin Thompson: Let go by Carolina

The Panthers waived Thompson (calf) on Tuesday.

Thomson dealt with a calf injury for the majority of August and missed all three of the Panthers' regular season contests. The 6-foot-4 tight end has appeared in 26 contests for Carolina over the past two seasons, but he ended last year on the team's practice squad.
