Devin Asiasi TE | TEN
Patriots' Devin Asiasi: Practicing Tuesday
Asiasi participated in practice Tuesday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Asiasi, who had been limited last week by an undisclosed injury, didn't see any action in the Patriots' preseason opener against the Giants, but the 25-year-old should log some work in the team's next contest, Friday against the Panthers. As Week 1 approaches, Asiasi and fellow 2020 third-rounder Dalton Keene are vying for depth slotting behind top tight ends Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith.

Dominique Dafney TE | CAR
Dominique Dafney: Let go by Green Bay
The Packers waived Dafney on Tuesday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Dafney appeared in 15 regular season games over the last two years in Green Bay and caught four of six targets for 60 yards and one score. The move signals that the Packers are confident that Robert Tonyan (knee) will be ready for Week 1, as Dafney was a likely candidate to make the initial 53-man roster if Tonyan wasn't activated off the PUP list before the start of the regular season.

Jeremiah Hall FB | NYG
Jeremiah Hall: Let go by Big Blue
Hall was waived by the Giants on Tuesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Hall was signed by the Giants as an undrafted free agent in May, but he's among the first wave of cuts ahead of Tuesday's 85-man roster deadline. The Oklahoma product caught 32 passes for 334 yards and four touchdowns during his final collegiate campaign.

Cole Turner TE | MIA
Commanders' Cole Turner: Still not ready for return
Coach Ron Rivera said Monday that Turner (hamstring) may be out for another "week or two," John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Meanwhile, Turner said Monday he feels he's "good to go." It would appear Washington is playing things safe with the rookie fifth-rounder from Nevada. Once he returns, he'll likely be competing with Sammis Reyes, Curtis Hodges and Armani Rogers for one of the final spots on the Commanders' 53-man roster.

John Bates TE | WAS
Commanders' John Bates: Bothered by calf
Bates (calf) is on a side field at Monday's practice, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
The second-year tight end missed some time earlier in camp but then returned to action last week. He was held out of the Commanders' preseason opener, however, allowing Armani Rogers and Curtis Hodges to get the first-team work at tight end. Bates is the probable Week 1 starter in the likely event Logan Thomas (ACL) isn't ready, though none of the Washington tight ends looks especially appealing for fantasy purposes. Bates was a fourth-round pick last year, and while he did get involved in the short passing game, he wasn't much of a receiving threat in college and lacks the speed to be more than a short-area threat in the pros.

Blake Bell TE | KC
Chiefs' Blake Bell: Remains sidelined with hip flexor
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Bell (hip) didn't practice Monday, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
Bell was carted off the field during Saturday's preseason contest due to the hip flexor injury, but the severity of the issue remains unclear. In his absence, Noah Gray and Jody Fortson are candidates for increased roles behind Travis Kelce.

Tommy Tremble TE | CAR
Panthers' Tommy Tremble: Plays in preseason opener
Tremble played but wasn't targeted in Saturday's 23-21 preseason win over the Commanders.
Tremble started at tight end and played 11 offensive snaps prior to calling it a day. Although he didn't get his hands on the ball, Tremble should continue to benefit from more reps in practice following Ian Thomas' recent rib injury. As a rookie last year, Tremble caught 20 of 35 targets for 180 yards and a touchdown, numbers he'll strive to expand upon in new coordinator Ben McAdoo's scheme.

Robert Tonyan TE | PIT
Packers' Robert Tonyan: Resuming practice
Tonyan (knee) is slated to return to practice Sunday, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.
With the tight end bouncing back from a torn ACL that he suffered Week 8 last season, coach Matt LaFleur relayed that Tonyan won't participate in team drills in his return to the field, with individual drill and walkthroughs initially on tap for for the 28-year-old, who logged an 18-204-2 line on 29 targets through eight outings in 2021.

Jalen Wydermyer TE | IND
Jalen Wydermyer: Gets cut Sunday
Wydermyer was waived by the Bills on Sunday.
Wydermyer joined Buffalo as undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M in the spring. Unfortunately for the rookie, he was unable to make headway in the competition at tight end, and he'll now work to earn a chance elsewhere.
