  • Ryan Hewitt TE | TEN

Bengals' Ryan Hewitt: Placed on NFI list

Hewitt (undisclosed) was placed on the NFI list on Thursday.

Hewitt has spent the last four years as a depth tight end with the Bengals. When healthy, he'll attempt to return in the same role.

  • Chris Manhertz TE | NYG

Panthers' Chris Manhertz: Lands on PUP list

Manhertz (foot) was placed on the Panthers' Physically Unable to Perform list Wednesday, Joe Person of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Manhertz injured his foot during minicamp and it's uncertain when he'll be ready to hit the practice field. Once healthy, Manhertz will need to fend off fourth-round rookie Ian Thomas for the No. 2 job behind starting tight end Greg Olsen.

  • Kyle Carter TE | NYG

Kyle Carter: Let go by Giants

Carter was waived by the Giants on Wednesday, Michael Eisen of the team's official site reports.

Carter was claimed off waivers this spring after appearing in three games with Minnesota in 2017. Should he pass through waivers unclaimed this time around, Carter would immediately become an unrestricted free agent.

  • Texans' Jevoni Robinson: Lands on PUP list

Robinson was placed on the Texans' Physically Unable to Perform list Wednesday with an undisclosed injury, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

At this point in time, it's not well known what is plaguing the 25-year-old. Robinson signed a deal with Houston back in January with the expectation he would compete for a depth role at tight end, with most of his responsibilities likely to fall on special teams if he were to crack the 53-man roster. It seems as though Robinson's chances of making the team took a severe hit after he received the injury designation.

  • Jacob Hollister: Let go by Patriots

Hollister was released by the Patriots on Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Hollister caught four passes for 42 yards and rushed once for five yards during his rookie campaign, but it wasn't enough to keep him around for a second year in Foxborough. He played the majority of his snaps on special teams last season and will likely aim for a similar role should he land with another club.

  • Titans' Phillip Supernaw: Placed on PUP list

Supernaw has been placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list due to an undisclosed injury, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.

Not much is known about the tight end's current status, but Supernaw has missed all of the team's offseason workouts. There is a chance he could be added to the active roster before camp officially begins Thursday, though at this point that seems unlikely.

  • Brandon Barnes TE | DET

    Brandon Barnes: Waived from IR

Barnes (undisclosed) was waived from the Lions' injured reserve list Friday.

Barnes was placed on IR back in May after suffering his injury. It's unclear how severe the injury is, but if he can pass a physical, he'll be eligible to play for another team in 2018.

  • Vince Mayle TE | BAL

Ravens' Vince Mayle: Removed from PUP list

Mayle (undisclosed) has been removed from the Physically Unable to Perform list, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Mayle passed a physical Friday morning and presumably will begin practicing within the next few days. He'll need to make a strong impression during training camp, considering Hayden Hurst, Mark Andrews (undisclosed) and Nick Boyle are all roster locks, with Maxx Williams also ahead of Mayle in the pecking order at tight end.

  • Logan Paulsen TE | HOU

Falcons' Logan Paulsen: Set for role as blocking tight end

Paulsen is expected to fill in for the recently departed Levine Toilolo as a blocking tight end for the Falcons, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Paulsen is an overwhelming favorite to be the team's No. 2 option at tight end this season, with extensive experience in Kyle Shanahan-directed offenses. Although there are some new wrinkles to the offense with Steve Sarkisian now at the helm, the unit's overall approach has not been drastically altered from the Shanahan era of two years ago. Paulsen played under Shanahan in Washington between 2010 and 2013, and again reunited with the offensive guru last season in San Francisco. The seven-year veteran is a non-threat through the air, with 82 receptions in 105 games and fewer than 850 receiving yards for his career, but what he does offer is solid run blocking. Paulsen has helped pave the way for four 1,000-yard rushers over his past five healthy seasons with the Redskins, Bears and 49ers (the only exception being Carlos Hyde's 2017 campaign, in which he compiled 938 yards on the ground).

  • Cardinals' Ricky Seals-Jones: Arrested over weekend

Seals-Jones was arrested in Scottsdale, Arizona on Saturday and charged with assault, disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing, NFL.com reports.

After being denied entry to a hotel due to the time of night, Seals-Jones allegedly attempted to re-enter more than once and pushed an employee before being restrained by security. It doesn't sound like anything that would warrant felony charges or a lengthy suspension, but the NFL could hand down some kind of punishment after the legal process plays out. The Cardinals stated they are aware of the incident and won't comment further at this time. Seals-Jones caught 12 passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games as an undrafted rookie last season, and he's expected to battle Jermaine Gresham (Achilles) for snaps in 2018.
