Carter caught a 16-yard touchdown for his only reception in Sunday's preseason win over the 49ers.

He'll likely begin the season as the No. 3 tight end, though it's not clear if both he and Bucky Hodges will make the final roster.

Hodges got time with the first-team offense and had one reception for 10 yards in Sunday's preseason win over the 49ers.

Hodges reportedly was slow to aclimate to the NFL early in training camp, but he's improved in the preseason and got time with the first stringers with Kyle Rudolph sitting out the game. He'll likely begin the season fourth on the depth chart, but it may be worth watching his development.

Lucas (ankle) reached an injury settlement and was waived by the Seahawks on Sunday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.

For Lucas, this means that he'll have the opportunity to play this season. However, he'll have to find a new landing spot first.

Wright caught all three of his targets for 24 yards during Friday's preseason loss to the Patriots.

Wright was the Lions' most productive tight end in the passing game Friday, though he did benefit from Eric Ebron's (hamstring) absence and Cole Wick's (chest) departure. More importantly, he seems to be back to his pre-injury form after tearing his ACL in spring workouts last year. If Wick is ultimately sidelined for a long period of time, Wright just might make the team.

Uzomah (ankle) isn't expected to play in Sunday's preseason game against the Redskins, Jay Morrison of Cox Media Group reports.

Uzomah has yet to make his preseason debut as he works his way back from a severely sprained left ankle. His final opportunity will come Thursday against the Colts.

Engram caught two of three targets for 32 yards in Saturday's preseason win over the Jets.

Engram has now caught six passes, averaging 12.5 yards per reception, through the preseason. The smallish, "move" tight end adds a weapon at tight end that the Giants have not featured in several years. Though the Giants have not featured the tight end much in recent seasons, one need only look at Martellus Bennett's rapport with Eli Manning in 2012 and the way Green Bay -- Ben McAdoo's former home and basis for his offense -- has traditionally utilized the position to know that value is to be had. Engram isn't likely to set the world on fire, but a strong rookie campaign is likely with few challengers for his role on the team.

Graham (back) caught two of four targets for 34 yards during Friday's preseason game against the Chiefs.

Appearing healthy after battling back spasms earlier in the week, Graham highlighted his night with a spectacular one-handed catch from QB Russell Wilson that was good for a 30-yard gain and set the Seahawks up for first and goal. Since he's unlikely to play in the preseason finale next week in Oakland, Graham's next appearance probably won't come until Week 1 when Seattle travels to Green Bay to face a Packers defense that allowed the eighth-most receiving yards to tight ends in 2016.

Allen logged 14 snaps in Friday's preseason game against the Lions.

Allen, who wasn't targeted in the contest, approaches the 2017 season as a solid all-around tight end who'll provide the Patriots with a complementary option/insurance policy for the oft-injured Rob Gronkowski. Allen is no stranger to the training room himself, but when healthy, the 6-foot-3, 265-pounder can do some damage in the red zone. Over the course of 57 NFL contests to date, he's hauled in 19 TDs. His fantasy upside is, however, limited as long as Gronkowski is able to see his normal allotment of snaps.

Lewis did not catch a pass in Thursday's preseason loss to Carolina.

Lewis hauled in a pair of receptions in his preseason debut last week against the Bucs, but he didn't make an impact Thursday as the Jags' offense once again sputtered behind the command of both Chad Henne and Blake Bortles. With Julius Thomas out of the picture, Lewis is expected to step back into a more significant role this season, though at age 33 his best days as a receiving threat are firmly in the rear-view. The UCLA product had just 20 receptions for 169 yards and one touchdown in 2016.

Ertz caught three passes for 44 yards on three targets in Thursday's preseason game against the Dolphins.

Carson Wentz has seemed to force the ball to Alshon Jeffery at times in the past two preseason games, but it hasn't had much of an impact on Ertz's involvement. The fifth-year tight end figures to stay plenty busy this season, as the Philadelphia receiving corps doesn't look so crowded after the team traded slot receiver Jordan Matthews to the Bills.
