  • Stone Smartt TE | NYJ

Jets' Stone Smartt: Limited with concussion

Smartt (concussion) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Smartt entered the league's concussion protocol after sustaining an injury late in the fourth quarter of this past Sunday's loss to the Dolphins. The tight end's upgrade to limited participation means he is progressing through the league's protocol. The 27-year-old will have just one more practice to pass an independent neurological exam and upgrade to full participation in an attempt to play Sunday against the Jaguars.

  • Mark Andrews TE | BAL

Ravens' Mark Andrews: Pops up on report with glute injury

Andrews (glute) was a limited participant at Thursday's practice.

This is a new injury for Andrews. He's coming off a disappointing one-catch performance against the Steelers and has posted fewer receiving yards than Isaiah Likely in each of Baltimore's last two games. If Andrews is available Sunday, both he and Likely could be heavily involved in the passing game against a Bengals defense that has allowed the most catches, receiving yards and touchdowns in the NFL to tight ends. Andrews would probably avoid an injury designation for Sunday's game if he returns to full participation Friday.

  • Jake Ferguson TE | DAL

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Doesn't practice Thursday

Ferguson (calf) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.

Ferguson opened Week 15 prep as limited due to a calf injury Wednesday, so his downgrade one day later is somewhat concerning. However, he was seen rehabbing with the Cowboys' training staff on the side Thursday, according to Joe Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News. Friday's injury report may include a ruling on Ferguson's status ahead of Sunday's game versus the Vikings, but if he needs to miss any time, Luke Schoonmaker and Brevyn Spann-Ford are the next TEs up on Dallas' roster.

  • Mason Taylor TE | NYJ

Jets' Mason Taylor: Another DNP on Thursday

Taylor (neck) remained a non-participant at Thursday's practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Taylor has missed the first two practices of Week 15 prep. He'll likely need to practice in some capacity Friday to have a chance to play Sunday at Jacksonville. Jeremy Ruckert would likely take on a larger role if Taylor sits out Sunday, with Stone Smartt (concussion) and Jelani Woods also possibly seeing more action.

  • Theo Johnson TE | NYG

Giants' Theo Johnson: Another limited practice

Johnson (toe) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

This marks Johnson's second capped session to begin Week 15 prep due to a toe injury, giving him just one more opportunity to get back to full Friday, or else he'll be at risk of heading into the weekend with a designation for Sunday's game against the Commanders. With rookie QB Jaxson Dart back under center in the Giants' last game Week 13 at New England, Johnson hauled in three of eight targets for 29 yards, which was his seventh outing in 13 appearances this season with fewer than 30 receiving yards.

  • T.J. Hockenson TE | MIN

    Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Limited Thursday

Hockenson (shin) was a limited practice participant Thursday.

One day removed from not mixing into any drills due to a shin injury Wednesday, Hockenson was back on the field, signaling that he's trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday's contest at Dallas. Friday's practice report will unveil whether or not he enters the weekend with a designation for Week 15 action, but fellow TE Josh Oliver is on hand if Hockenson is inhibited or sidelined.

  • Steelers' Darnell Washington: Limited Thursday, still in protocol

Washington (concussion) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Washington remains in concussion protocol, which he entered after being concussed during this past Sunday's win over the Ravens. In order to clear the protocol and be eligible to suit up Monday against the Dolphins, Washington will need to upgrade to full participation by Saturday and gain clearance from an independent neurologist.

  • David Njoku TE | CLE

Browns' David Njoku: Still not practicing

Njoku (knee) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.

Njoku also managed a knee injury ahead of Week 14 action, but now that the tight end is set to log back-to-back 'DNPs' this time around, what he does (if anything) at practice Friday will loom large in terms of his status for Sunday's game against the Bears. If Njoku is out or limited this weekend, Blake Whiteheart would be in line to see added TE snaps behind Harold Fannin.

  • Eric Saubert TE | SEA

Seahawks' Eric Saubert: Logs limited session

Saubert (calf) logged a limited practice Wednesday, Corbin K. Smith of SI.com reports.

Saubert last suited up in Week 7 but was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday. He returned to the field by logging a limited session, but it remains to be seen whether he'll be activated for Seattle's Week 15 matchup against the Colts.

  • Elijah Arroyo TE | SEA

Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: No practice to begin week

Arroyo (knee) did not practice Wednesday, Corbin K. Smith of SI.com reports.

Arroyo suffered the knee injury in Sunday's blowout win over Atlanta, and head coach Mike McDonald has since expressed skepticism that Arroyo would be able to play in Week 15 against the Colts. His inability to suit up at all Wednesday isn't a promising start, but he'll have two additional days to increase his participation.
