Romeo Doubs WR | NE
Packers' Romeo Doubs: Finds end zone in preseason loss
Doubs secured three of seven targets for 45 yards and a touchdown in the Packers' 28-21 preseason loss to the 49ers on Friday night.
The rookie fourth-round pick carried over some of the momentum from what has been a noteworthy training camp, recording a 33-yard touchdown reception down the right sideline in the first quarter in which he gained some impressive separation. Doubs was subsequently the intended receiver on one of Jordan Love's three interceptions, but he certainly had an encouraging night overall. Doubs has been making a push for significant playing time on a Packers receiving corps that's ripe with opportunity for the coming season, and he'll have another chance to continue making his case against the Saints next Friday night at Lambeau Field.

Trent Taylor WR | SF
Bengals' Trent Taylor: Strong showing in preseason opener
Taylor caught all four of his targets for 74 yards in Friday's preseason game against the Cardinals.
Getting the start at wide receiver with Cincinnati sitting its regulars and top backups, Taylor had three catches of 10 or more yards on the team's second drive to help set up a field goal. The former 49er suited up for only four games in 2021 during his first season with the Bengals, but Taylor could offer some veteran depth behind the dangerous trio of Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins (shoulder) and Tyler Boyd if he wins a roster spot.
-
Elijah Moore WR | PHI
Jets' Elijah Moore: Once catch in preseason opener
Moore recorded one reception on one target for nine yards in Friday's 24-21 preseason win over the Eagles.
Moore played with the first-team offense for three possessions. He made the most of his one look, hauling in a pass from Zach Wilson (knee) to earn the team a fresh set of downs. Moore had a fairly strong showing in his rookie season -- he managed 538 yards on 77 targets -- and should be in for a productive 2022 campaign working opposite Garrett Wilson among the Jets' receiving corps.
-
Garrett Wilson WR | NYJ
Jets' Garrett Wilson: Tallies 25 yards in preseason debut
Wilson recorded two receptions on three targets for 25 yards in Friday's 24-21 preseason win over the Eagles.
Wilson was targeted on Zach Wilson's (knee) first dropback of the game, though the pass fell incomplete. He remained on the field for a total of three possessions and tallied gains of 15 and 10 yards on his two receptions. Wilson is expected to have a prominent role in the Jets' offense during his rookie season, though Elijah Moore may have the upper hand as the team's top wideout early on.
-
Andy Isabella WR | SF
Cardinals' Andy Isabella: Leading receiver Friday
Isabella caught four of seven targets for a team-high 57 yards in Friday's preseason game against the Bengals.
The Cardinals' wide receiver depth could be tested to begin the season with DeAndre Hopkins suspended and Marquise Brown (hamstring) and Antoine Wesley (hip) both banged up, although Brown at least seems likely to be ready for Week 1. That could be enough to give Isabella, a second-round pick in 2019 who has been a bust in the NFL, one more chance to carve out a role in Arizona. He remains firmly behind A.J. Green and Rondale Moore -- both of whom got the night off along with the other projected starters -- and Greg Dortch posted nearly identical numbers to Isabella in Friday's game, so the speedster out of UMass has more work to do in training camp to even claim the No. 4 spot on the depth chart.
-
Zay Jones WR | HOU
Jaguars' Zay Jones: Shows chemistry with Lawrence
Jones caught two of four targets for 47 yards in Friday's 24-13 preseason loss to the Browns.
Starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence connected with Jones on a 32-yard deep ball on Jacksonville's first offensive play of the game, and they linked up again for a 15-yard gain later in the first quarter. Jones finished as Jacksonville's leading receiver in the game, and this performance coupled with what has reportedly been a productive training camp has Jones in the hunt for a starting job in a receiving corps that also includes Christian Kirk (ankle), Marvin Jones and Laviska Shenault (hamstring). How the wide receivers are deployed in Jacksonville's next preseason game against the Steelers on Aug. 20 should help define where Jones stands in the pecking order.
-
Anthony Schwartz WR | MIA
Browns' Anthony Schwartz: Three targets in preseason opener
Schwartz failed to catch any of his three targets in Friday's 24-13 preseason win over the Jaguars.
On the bright side, Schwartz suited up for the preseason opener despite recently battling a knee injury and was targeted three times by starting quarterback Deshaun Watson. Unfortunately, they were unable to connect on any of those three passes, which included two drops. Schwartz looks like a safe bet to make Cleveland's roster, but he'll likely continue to jostle with Donovan Peoples-Jones and David Bell for playing time alongside clear No. 1 wideout Amari Cooper. Schwartz will look to make a larger impact against the Eagles in the Browns' next preseason game a week from Sunday.
-
Donovan Peoples-Jones WR | NO
Browns' Donovan Peoples-Jones: No targets in preseason opener
Peoples-Jones wasn't targeted in Friday's 24-13 preseason win over the Jaguars.
Peoples-Jones suited up for the preseason opener but wasn't thrown to by Deshaun Watson, who completed just one of five passes in three drives of action. While Peoples-Jones has drawn some fantasy interest as the potential No. 2 wide receiver in a Cleveland passing game that could feature Watson under center after Watson serves a six-game suspension, the wideout failed to establish a rapport with the Browns' new quarterback in this one. They'll try to get on the same page when the Eagles come to town for Cleveland's next preseason game Aug. 21.

Drake London WR | ATL
Falcons' Drake London: Knee injury likely not serious
The knee injury that London suffered during Friday's preseason victory at Detroit isn't believed to be a serious one, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
London's pro debut included a 24-yard catch and run, followed by a stay in the medical tent before the Falcons ruled him out of the contest. The decision appears to be one of precaution with his long-term health in mind, but the specific nature of the injury won't be known until Saturday, per coach Arthur Smith via Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site.

Drake London WR | ATL
Falcons' Drake London: Clarification on injury to come
Coach Arthur Smith didn't provide an update on London's (knee) health after Friday's preseason win at Detroit, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.
Prior to his early exit, London recorded a 24-yard catch and run, looking the part of a first-round pick. However, the rookie wide receiver had his right leg examined in the blue medical tent and eventually was ruled out with a knee injury. Bridget Condon of NFL Network later reported London was walking about the sideline and didn't seem to be dealing with anything too severe. Afterward, Smith relayed that the Falcons will have a better idea about London's injury Saturday, likely after he goes through a battery of tests to learn the precise diagnosis.
