Eagles' DeVonta Smith: Not practicing, but should play Week 1
Smith (hamstring) isn't participating in Tuesday's practice, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports.
Though Smith will sit out his fifth consecutive practice, he appears to be making strides in his recovery from a hamstring injury. According to Tim McManus of ESPN.com, Smith was spotted doing some running on the field prior to Tuesday's session, which he hadn't done in advance of any of the previous four practices. The Eagles continue to view the hamstring issue as a short-term concern and appear to be playing it safe with their No. 1 wideout.

Eagles' DeVonta Smith: Still sidelined for practice
Smith (hamstring) isn't participating in Monday's practice, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.
Smith and Makai Lemon (hamstring) will both remain sidelined Monday, clearing the way for Dontayvion Wicks and Hollywood Brown to see more reps with the first-team offense. Though Smith hasn't practiced in a week, the Eagles haven't expressed any concern about the wideout's availability for the start of the regular season.

Eagles' DeVonta Smith: Missing another practice
Smith (hamstring) isn't practicing Friday, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Fellow wideouts Makai Lemon and Britain Covey also are absent due to hamstring injuries, leaving Dontayvion Wicks and Hollywood Brown as the team's top healthy wideouts. Elijah Moore and Darius Cooper should also see more first-team snaps as a result. Reports suggest Smith's hamstring injury is minor; he's been absent from practice since Tuesday.

Eagles' DeVonta Smith: Misses practice again
Smith (hamstring) and Makai Lemon (hamstring) aren't practicing Wednesday, EJ Smith of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Neither wideout practiced Tuesday, with reports suggesting that both picked up minor hamstring injuries recently. Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports that Dontayvion Wicks, Hollywood Brown and Britain Covey were the first-team WRs at the start of Tuesday's practice in the absence of Smith and Lemon.

Eagles' DeVonta Smith: Sidelined by hamstring injury
Smith missed Tuesday's practice due to a hamstring injury that isn't expected to be a long-term concern, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports.
Fellow Eagles wideout Makai Lemon is also absent because of a hamstring injury. It's obviously not what fantasy managers want to hear, but the team reportedly isn't too concerned at this juncture. Dontayvion Wicks and Hollywood Brown should get plenty of first-team reps at training camp this week.

Eagles' DeVonta Smith: Top option in revamped WR room
Smith is set to lead a revamped wide receiver room that includes rookie first-round pick Makai Lemon and trade acquisition Dontayvion Wicks, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.
Smith has spent the past four seasons in A.J. Brown's shadow, but the 2021 first-round pick is ready to lead Philadelphia's wide receiver room for the first time since Smith's rookie campaign, during which he led the team in catches, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns with a 64-916-5 regular-season line. Brown was traded to New England in June, and Smith is ready to take on an even larger role after exceeding 1,000 receiving yards in three of four regular seasons playing alongside Brown. "He's a special player that can continue to get even more targets," head coach Nick Sirianni said of Smith, per Zach Berman of The Athletic. "He's so capable of doing even more, and he's phenomenal, he is such a good football player."

Eagles' DeVonta Smith: Philly's WR1 after Brown trade
Smith is set to operate as the Eagles' top wide receiver after the team traded A.J. Brown to the Patriots on Monday.
In anticipation of trading Brown, Philadelphia bolstered its wide receiver room by selecting Makai Lemon in the first round of this year's draft, in addition to trading for Dontayvion Wicks and signing Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore in free agency. Smith figures to work ahead of those offseason additions after posting the third 1,000-yard regular season of his five-year career in 2025. Philadelphia's 2021 first-round draft pick has averaged 111 targets in his first five regular seasons, the last four of which came while starting alongside Brown.
