  • Terry McLaurin WR | WAS

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Joining team but won't practice

McLaurin isn't expected to participate in on-field work this offseason, but he will be at the Commanders' team facility Tuesday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.

At this point in mid-April, workouts are voluntary and don't include much on-field work, if any. The bigger question will come later this spring when the team has mandatory minicamp (June 14-16) a week after the conclusion of OTAs. McLaurin will take part if he signs an extension before then, while he could opt to hold out if contract discussions are ongoing or stalled. The 2019 third-round pick is entering the fourth and final year of his rookie contract, averaging 74 catches for 1,030 yards and 5.3 TDs per season so far. McLaurin will work with a new QB again in 2022, with the Commanders trading for Carson Wentz and likely dropping Taylor Heinicke back to the second spot on their depth chart.

  • Deebo Samuel WR | SF

49ers' Deebo Samuel: May skip offseason on-field work

Samuel isn't expected to participate in any on-field work during the 49ers' offseason program, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Per David Lombardi of The Athletic, it remains to be seen if Samuel reports for the team's voluntary offseason program, which opens Tuesday, but in any case, the 2019 second-rounder -- who is in the final year of his rookie deal -- appears destined for a big second NFL contract in the wake of several fellow wideouts receiving hefty payouts this offseason. Samuel is coming off a fantasy-friendly 2021 campaign in which he racked up 77 catches for 1,405 yards and six TDs while adding 59 carries for 365 yards and eight rushing scores in 16 games.

  • A.J. Brown WR | NE

Titans' A.J. Brown: In line to skip offseason workouts

Brown isn't expected to participate in any on-field work during the Titans' offseason program, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

The 2019 second-rounder, who is approaching the final year of his rookie deal with the team, is in line for a lucrative second NFL contract, especially considering some of the big payouts that fellow star wideouts have earned of late. With that in mind, ESPN's Turron Davenport relays that Brown doesn't plan to report for the start of the Titans' voluntary offseason program Monday. Though there's been some speculation that Tennessee might consider trading the 24-year-old, Dianna Russini of ESPN reported earlier this month that GM Jon Robinson is not taking calls from other teams on Brown, with Davenport adding that it's Robinson's stated goal to keep the talented pass catcher around beyond 2022. In 13 games last season, the 6-foot-1, 226-pounder caught 63 of his 105 targets for 869 yards and five TDs.

  • Jamal Agnew WR | ATL

Jaguars' Jamal Agnew: Recovery proceeding well

Agnew (hip) said last week on the Jag Roar Podcast that he's "feeling good" and is "probably a little bit ahead" of schedule in his recovery, Isaac Edelman of FLTeams.com reports.

Agnew only appeared in 10 games with the Jaguars in 2021 before suffering a season-ending hip injury. Though Agnew officially was placed on injured reserve with the hip issue, he said he's spent the offseason recovering from a calf strain. The arrivals of Christian Kirk and Zay Jones could push Agnew further down the depth chart during the 2022 campaign, but he at the very minimum should contribute in the return game and as a rotational option out of the slot.

  • Jalen Guyton WR | LV

Chargers' Jalen Guyton: Signs exclusive rights tender

Guyton officially signed his exclusive rights free agent tender Tuesday and will remain with the Chargers this coming season, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

The 24-year-old finished the 2021 campaign third among Los Angeles' wide receivers in terms of yardage (448), while logging 31 receptions on 48 targets and three touchdowns in 16 games. Beyond competing for reps behind Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, Guyton could also contribute in the return game, as the Chargers haven't re-signed last season's primary returner Andre Roberts.

  • Tee Higgins WR | CIN

Bengals' Tee Higgins: Bouncing back from shoulder issue

Higgins had the labrum in his left shoulder repaired last month, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

The report notes that the wideout, who was spotted at a Cincinnati Reds game Tuesday with his left arm in a sling, is expected to recover from the procedure well before training camp. This past season, the 2020 second-rounder caught 74 of his 110 targets for 1,091 yards and six TDs in 14 games. In 2022, the 23-year-old will reprise his starting role in a Bengals wide receiver corps that also includes the ascending Ja'Marr Chase as well as Tyler Boyd.

  • Malik Turner WR | SF

49ers' Malik Turner: Gets chance with Niners

Turner signed a one-year contract with the 49ers on Monday.

Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk head into 2022 as the 49ers' clear top two receivers, but Turner should get the chance to compete for the No. 3 role with Jauan Jennings and a host of other wideouts. Turner suited up in 14 games for Dallas in 2021, tallying 12 receptions for 149 yards and three touchdowns on 16 targets.

  • DeAndre Carter WR | CLE

Chargers' DeAndre Carter: Headed to LA

Carter signed with the Chargers on Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Carter recorded a career-best 24 receptions for 296 yards and three touchdowns in 2021 as a member of the Washington Commanders. Now joining a wide receiver corps that already boasts Keenan Allen and Mike Williams among others, Carter isn't likely to improve upon -- or perhaps even repeat -- those marks. However, his primary value will come from his work in the return game, as he has proven to be both a valuable kick and punt returner throughout his professional career.

  • Texans' Brandin Cooks: Earns two-year extension

The Texans and Cooks agreed to a two-year contract extension Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The move puts to bed rumors that Cooks could be on the move this offseason and locks him in with Houston through the 2024 season. Only 28 years old, he's been a member of four organizations in his eight-year career, going for at least 1,000 yards in six of the last seven seasons and surpassing the 80-catch mark four times during that span. Cooks will continue to serve as the unquestioned No. 1 option for the Texans' passing game moving forward.

  • Stefon Diggs WR | WAS

Bills' Stefon Diggs: Secures four-year extension

Diggs agreed to terms Wednesday with the Bills on a four-year, $104 million contract extension, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Diggs still had two years remaining on his five-year, $72 million contract, but after seeing the receiver market undergo a sea change this offseason, Buffalo didn't want to wait any longer to extend its star wideout. The 28-year-old, who hasn't missed a regular-season game in his two years with Buffalo, racked up a career-high 1,535 receiving yards in 2020, and he set another career mark with 10 touchdowns in 2021. The 28-year-old will continue to enjoy his position as Josh Allen's top target heading into the 2022 campaign, a combination which has proven highly valuable for fantasy purposes.
