Shrader has won Indianapolis' kicking job after the Colts cut Blake Grupe on Sunday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Shrader has been a journeyman so far in his career, making nine regular-season appearances between three teams the last two years. After facing off with Blake Grupe during training camp and the preseason, though, Shrader will be the Week 1 placekicker for the Colts, seemingly due to connecting on a pair of 60-plus yard field goals during exhibition season.

The Commanders waived Hartman on Sunday, Tom Pelissero of Netflix reports.

Hartman has evidently lost the backup quarterback battle to Marcus Mariota and seventh-round rookie Athan Kaliakmanis. The 27-year-old will now be subject to waivers. If Hartman goes unclaimed, the Commanders would like to have the quarterback back with the team on the practice squad.

The Chargers released Jefferson on Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Jefferson was competing for a depth role behind Derwin James and Elijah Molden, but was unable to catch on. The 34-year-old recorded 57 total tackles (37 solo) and four interceptions across 13 regular-season games with the Chargers in 2025, and will now look to catch on with another team.

Beckham has earned a spot on the 53-man roster for the Giants, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.

Beckham rejoined the Giants at the start of June, and although he had to compete for a roster spot he wound up snagging one. Roles still are being sorted behind top wideout Malik Nabers (knee), so it remains to be seen what type of workload Beckham will handle Week 1.

The Giants cut Allen on Sunday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

The veteran quarterback signed with the Giants in early April looking for a chance to be the No. 3 quarterback behind Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston. Allen lost the battle for the emergency slot to Jake Haener and is now free to look for another team.

The Browns placed Gabriel (back) on injured reserve Sunday with a designation to return, Camryn Justice of News 5 Cleveland reports.

Gabriel thus will be required to miss at least the first four games of the campaign due to a back issue. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Sunday that Gabriel initially suffered the injury in preseason Week 3, discomfort followed, and he had an MRI before this transaction was made official. In the meantime, Deshaun Watson will lead the Browns offense, with Shedeur Sanders backing him up and rookie sixth-rounder Taylen Green acting as the third-stringer.

The Texans waived Kelly on Sunday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Kelly participated in all three preseason games, catching seven of his 10 targets for 72 yards. The Texans plan to add the young wide receiver to the team's practice squad if he can clear waivers.

The Cardinals cut Murphy-Bunting on Sunday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports.

Murphy-Bunting was competing for a depth role on defense but was unable to impress enough to earn a roster spot. The 29-year-old missed the entirety of last season while recovering from a knee injury suffered last May and will now look to find a new opportunity with another team.

The Cowboys waived Steward on Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Steward signed his exclusive-rights free-agent tender with the Cowboys in March. The cornerback was expected to once again be a strong piece of the team's secondary depth after playing in all 17 regular-season games and starting five throughout the 2025 campaign. Steward will now be placed on waivers and will likely be claimed by a team in need of cornerback depth. If the 25-year-old goes unclaimed, there is a strong chance he will rejoin the Cowboys on the team's practice squad.

The Giants cut Conner on Sunday, Connor Hughes of SNY.tv reports.

Conner had spent the majority of last season with the Dolphins, catching nine of his 15 targets for 91 yards across nine outings before being released and catching on with the Giants' practice squad. The 28-year-old will now look to catch on with another team.
