  • Geno Smith QB | NYJ

Jets' Geno Smith: Voted team captain

Smith was voted a Jets captain by his teammates ahead of the 2026 season, Amanda Vogt and Eric Allen of the team's official site reports.

It's been nearly 10 years since Smith last took a snap for the Jets, but after revitalizing his career with the Seahawks and Raiders over the last four seasons, he's back in New York as a grizzled vet with age (34) and experience on his side. Smith recorded at least 3,000 yards and 19 touchdowns through the air in each of those four campaigns, but he also tossed 52 interceptions in 64 regular-season games during that span. Picks are often an issue for Smith, but he at least will have a nice skill-position group of RB Breece Hall (groin), WRs Garrett Wilson, Adonai Mitchell and Omar Cooper and TEs Mason Taylor and Kenyon Sadiq (abdomen) to throw to in 2026.

  • K.J. Osborn WR | TEN

K.J. Osborn: Joins Titans' practice squad

Tennessee signed Osborn to the practice squad Monday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.

After being released by Tennessee on Sunday, Osborn will join the Titans' practice squad. The 29-year-old has plenty of NFL experience, suiting up for the Vikings and Patriots throughout his career. In 66 regular-season games, he recorded 165 catches for 1,902 yards and 16 touchdowns. Osborn could find his way to the field during the 2026 campaign, though he's not expected to be much of a contributor if he does.

  • Kalel Mullings RB | TEN

Kalel Mullings: Lands on Titans' practice squad

Tennessee signed Mullings (hip) to its practice squad Monday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.

Mullings was sidelined during the preseason due to a hip injury, but he's apparently in good enough shape to contribute as a member of Tennessee's practice squad. In nine games with the team in 2025, he totaled three carries for seven yards.

  • Hendon Hooker QB | TEN

Hendon Hooker: Earns spot on Titans' PS

The Titans signed Hooker to the practice squad Monday, Jim Wyatt of the Team's official site reports.

Hooker was waived by Tennessee on Sunday but will stay with the team in some capacity as a member of the practice squad. The 28-year-old was selected by the Lions in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He appeared in three regular-season games for Detroit in 2024, going 6-for-9 for 6 yards and adding five carries for two yards. While Hooker could suit up for the Titans during the 2026 campaign, he is a long way away from earning a starting opportunity.

  • Joel Wilson TE | TEN

Joel Wilson: Joins Titans' practice squad

Tennessee signed Wilson to its practice squad Monday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.

Wilson was waived Sunday after missing the cut for Tennessee's initial 53-man roster, but he's now back with the team. He's been bouncing around the league since 2023, but he's still waiting to make his regular-season debut.

  • D'Andre Swift RB | CHI

Bears' D'Andre Swift: Believed to be dealing with cramp

Swift (abdomen) is believed to have left Thursday's practice with "a cramp," Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Swift was reportedly "in significant discomfort" when leaving Thursday's practice with an apparent abdominal issue, but the early diagnosis seems to suggest he is not dealing with a serious setback. Even still, Swift will carry an injury designation for the time being, and it could be a few days before an official update from the team is released. Both Swift and Kyle Monangai (knee) now find themselves on the injury report, and if either is limited or unavailable altogether in the opener, Roschon Johnson would stand to benefit.

  • Tyren Montgomery: Gets spot on Titans' practice squad

The Titans signed Montgomery to its practice squad Monday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.

Montgomery totaled two catches for 25 over his three preseason games, which helped to earn him a place on the Titans' practice squad to start the new campaign. He was productive with an age advantage at John Carroll, but it may take injuries for him to be elevated to Tennessee's active roster in 2026.

  • Michael Carter RB | TEN

Michael Carter: Joins Titans' practice squad

The Titans signed Carter to the practice squad Monday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.

Carter was released by the Titans on Sunday, but he was back with the organization 24 hours later. The 2021 fourth-round pick of the Jets has appeared in 61 regular-season games with New York and the Cardinals, amassing 1,692 rushing yards off 418 attempts and catching 145 passes for 1,038 yards while totaling 10 total touchdowns (nine rushing, one receiving). Carter has a fair amount of starting experience and put together some serviceable performances for Arizona down the stretch last season, so he could get a chance to see the field for the Titans at some point during the 2026 campaign.

  • Hank Beatty WR | TEN

Hank Beatty: Gets waived from practice squad

The Titans waived Beatty from their practice squad Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.

Beatty joined Tennessee's practice squad Monday after missing the cut for the initial 53-man roster, but he's now in line to become a free agent again. The undrafted rookie will have to seek out another opportunity with a different club.

  • Xavier Restrepo: Gets added to Titans' practice squad

Tennessee signed Restrepo to its practice squad Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.

Restrepo made Tennessee's initial 53-man roster for 2026, but he was abruptly waived Monday to make room for new acquisitions. Now he's back with the organization as a member of the practice squad, and since the Titans only have five receivers on their active roster, he might be closer to the field than most practice-squad wideouts.
