  • Giants' Greg Newsome: Set for Monday night

Newsome (ribs) does not have any injury designation ahead of Monday night's game against the Rams, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Newsome upgraded to full participation in Saturday's practice after being limited Thursday and Friday. The cornerback has overcome his rib injury just in time to suit up for Monday night's game. With Deonte Banks (calf) still questionable to play, Newsome's presence will be huge for a Giants defense that will have to deal with Davante Adams and maybe Puka Nacua (hip).

  • Deonte Banks CB | NYG

Giants' Deonte Banks: Questionable with calf injury

Banks (calf) is listed as questionable ahead of Monday night's game against the Rams, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Banks was unable to practice Friday or Saturday due to his calf injury. The starting outside cornerback's inability to get on the field makes it unlikely that he will be able to suit up Monday night. If Banks is ruled out, Colton Hood will likely take over as the outside cornerback opposite Greg Newsome for Monday Night Football.

  • Max Hurleman RB | PIT

Max Hurleman: Placed on practice squad injured reserve

The Steelers placed Hurleman (undisclosed) on practice squad injured reserve Saturday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.

Hurleman signed with the Steelers' practice squad Sept. 2. The wide receiver has suffered an undisclosed injury and will now need to miss four games before he is eligible to return to the 16-man practice squad.

  • Travis Homer RB | PIT

Steelers' Travis Homer: Elevated for Week 2

The Steelers elevated Homer from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.

Homer is set to suit up for Sunday's game against the Patriots. The running back has logged 1,286 special-teams snaps in the regular season since being drafted in the sixth round by the Seahawks in 2019. The 28-year-old has likely been elevated to assist the Steelers' special teams unit while Jaylen Warren, Rico Dowdle and Eli Heidenreich take care of the rushing offense.

  • Kamren Curl SAF | LAR

Rams' Kam Curl: Limited again Saturday

Curl (ankle) is set to be a limited participant in Saturday's practice, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.

Curl is dealing with ankle soreness that began after the Rams' Week 1 loss to the 49ers in Melbourne, Australia. The strong safety has been limited throughout Week 2. There is a chance that Curl will play through the issue for Monday's game against the Giants, but the fact that he played only 46 percent of the defensive snaps in Week 1 means the injury may still be unmanageable in a live game.

  • Aaron Donald DE | LAR

Rams' Aaron Donald: Will return Monday night

Coach Sean McVay confirmed Saturday that Donald is expected to play Monday versus the Giants, Nate Atkins of The Athletic reports. "If he said it, he's going," McVay noted. "Whatever Aaron says, I support."

Donald spoke to the media Friday, telling Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com, "That's the plan," when asked if he'll make his season debut Monday and thereby see his first game action since the 2023 season. With McVay supporting such a notion, Donald's status will be confirmed about 90 minutes before Monday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. At 35 years old, Donald's workload remains to be seen, but considering the D-line depth that the Rams boast, he could be eased in for his initial 2026 appearance.

  • Nate Landman LB | LAR

Rams' Nate Landman: Limited for Saturday's practice

Landman (shoulder) will be a limited participant in Saturday's practice, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.

Landman has been limited in every practice of Week 2. The inside linebacker appears to be able to navigate his shoulder issue, but it remains unclear whether he is capable of sustaining NFL contact with the injury. If Landman cannot suit up, Shaun Dolac will likely start at inside linebacker next to Omar Speights (hip) for Monday's game against the Giants.

  • Rams' Jordan Whittington: Doubtful for Monday

Whittington (quadriceps) is doubtful to play in Monday's game against the Giants, Benjamin Royer of The Orange County Register reports.

Whittington has not practiced since sustaining his quadriceps injury in the Rams' Week 1 loss to the 49ers. The wide receiver's likely absence for Monday's contest would be made even worse if Puka Nacua (groin) were also unable to suit up. Konata Mumpfield and Xavier Smith could see increased roles against the Giants, but if multiple wide receivers must miss time, it is likely the Rams will live in 13-personnel packages with the team's deep tight end corps.

  • Puka Nacua WR | LAR

Rams' Puka Nacua: Questionable for Monday

Coach Sean McVay said Nacua (hip) won't practice Saturday and will be listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Giants, Benjamin Royer of The Orange County Register reports.

Nacua thus will miss practice for a second day in a row to end Week 2 prep, and McVay also told Royer that the wide receiver is dealing with some soreness in his groin, but the Rams will see how he feels as Monday's kickoff approaches. The issue apparently is different than the psoas soreness that Nacua tended to during training camp, and his status very well could come down to a game-time decision.

  • Patriots' Carlton Davis: Ruled out for Sunday

Davis (neck) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Steelers.

Davis was listed as questionable after Friday's practice. The cornerback was unable to practice at all in Week 2, making it unsurprising that he will be incapable of suiting up for Sunday's contest. Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports that Charles Woods is likely the next man up at outside cornerback.
