Malatesta was called up from AHL Cleveland on Wednesday.
Malatesta has six goals, 12 points and 25 PIM over 25 appearances with Cleveland in 2024-25. He hasn't yet played in the NHL this year, but he logged two goals and four points across 11 outings with the Blue Jackets last season.
