Sweezey has been placed on waivers by Boston on Wednesday, per Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.
Sweezey had a goal, 10 points and 67 PIM in 64 regular-season outings with AHL Providence in 2024-25. The 29-year-old is expected to spend most, if not all, of the upcoming season in the minors.
