Lucic (ankle) was placed on long-term injured reserve Friday, per the NHL media site.
Lucic's IR designation shouldn't come as a surprise after news broke that he would be out for a couple of weeks. At this point, given he has already missed three games, the winger's placement on injured reserve shouldn't impact his timeline to return. In the meantime, Jesper Boqvist should see extra minutes in a bottom-six role.
