Stevens was placed on waivers by the Canucks on Tuesday.
Stevens will be assigned to Abbotsford of the AHL if he clears. He recorded 19 goals and 43 points in 68 games for Vancouver's top minor-league affiliate last year. The 28-year-old forward doesn't have any NHL experience.
