McGregor was demoted to AHL Tucson on Tuesday.
McGregor failed to break into the lineup during his stint in the NHL with the team opting instead to use a seventh defenseman. The 24-year-old center has produced a mere two goals and two assists in 19 minor-league contests this season. In a corresponding move, Zach Sanford was called up from the Roadrunners.
