Gauthier signed a professional tryout offer with the Devils on Friday.
Gauthier appeared in just two games with the Coyotes last season, logging no points, one shot, one hit and one block over that span. If he's able to secure a contract with New Jersey during training camp, he'll likely have to settle for a two-way deal.
