Gauthier signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Devils on Friday, Mike Morreale of NHL.com reports.
Gauthier was attending New Jersey's training camp on a professional tryout offer, and he evidently performed well enough to earn a two-way deal. Nonetheless, the 26-year-old forward, who went scoreless in two appearances with Arizona last season, will likely spend most of the 2021-22 campaign in the minors.
