Dowling was placed on waivers Tuesday with the intention to assign him to AHL Utica.

The Devils activated Curtis Lazar (knee) from injured reserve in a corresponding move. Dowling has contributed two goals, one assist, 16 hits and 14 shots on net in 21 NHL appearances this campaign.
