Bayreuther was recalled from AHL Chicago on Monday.
Carolina placed Pyotr Kochetkov (undisclosed) on injured reserve in a corresponding move. Bayreuther will be an option for Monday's matchup against the Rangers, but he could be a healthy scratch for the contest. He has four goals and 13 points in 24 AHL outings this season.
