Nystrom was reassigned to AHL Chicago on Wednesday.
Nystrom suited up in 38 regular-season games for the Hurricanes in 2025-26, recording one goal, nine assists and 10 hits while averaging 15:11 of ice time. With Nystrom heading back to the minors, Carolina should be at full strength heading into Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
