    Andersen will be between the home pipes in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Golden Knights on Tuesday, per Jesse Granger of The Athletic.

    Andersen has been phenomenal throughout the postseason -- he's allowed two or fewer goals in 12 of 13 games during the Hurricanes' run through the Eastern Conference bracket. The veteran netminder will have his toughest test yet, however, as the Golden Knights rank second in playoff scoring with 3.63 goals per game. The Hurricanes have been good at limiting shots against per game, though, with an average of 22.3 being tied for first in the 2026 postseason. Neither team is missing any players due to injury heading into Game 1 on Tuesday, which only adds to the intrigue of this series.

    Nikishin logged an assist, two PIM and a plus-3 rating in Friday's 6-1 win over the Canadiens in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

    Nikishin got on the scoresheet for the first time this postseason with the helper on Logan Stankoven's first-period tally. Through 11 outings, Nikishin has added eight shots on net, 14 hits, seven blocked shots and a plus-2 rating. The 24-year-old defenseman has mostly played sheltered minutes on the third pairing throughout the postseason. Nikishin managed 58 seconds of power-play ice time in Game 5, which marked the first time he's skated with the man advantage since Game 3 versus the Flyers in the second round.

Andersen is poised to continue in the starting role as the Hurricanes face the Golden Knights, which begins with Game 1 on Tuesday in Raleigh.
