Rempe was assigned to AHL Hartford on Monday, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports.
Rempe made 17 regular-season appearances with the Rangers as a rookie last year and tallied a goal, an assist and 50 hits. The team appears to be making some procedural moves Monday, so it's possible that Rempe rejoins the NHL club ahead of Opening Night against Pittsburgh on Wednesday.
