Rangers' Adam Fox: Collects two power-play points
Fox scored a goal and added an assist, both on the power play, in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Sabres.
Fox set up Alexis Lafreniere on the Rangers' first goal and then put them ahead 3-2 in the second period with a tally of his own. During an eight-game point streak, Fox has amassed four goals and 11 assists, with nine of those 15 points coming on the power play. He's up to nine goals, 52 points (24 on the power play), 84 shots on net, 72 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating over 52 appearances. Fox continues to operate as the Rangers' top blueliner and has been producing as such when healthy.

Rangers' Alexis Lafreniere: Scores twice in loss
Lafreniere scored two goals, including one on the power play, and went minus-2 in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Sabres.
Lafreniere ended a five-game goal drought with the effort. The 24-year-old winger has earned five goals and six assists over his last 12 outings as he continues to put together a strong final quarter of the campaign. He's up to 24 goals, 55 points, 161 shots on net, 84 hits, 42 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating over 79 appearances. He needs three points over the Rangers' last three games to establish a new career high.

Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Falls to Sabres
Shesterkin stopped 22 of 26 shots in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Sabres. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.
Shesterkin had a 3-2 lead to protect after the second period, but the Rangers got caved in during the third. They managed just one shot on goal, and Shesterkin couldn't hold the fort, giving up goals to Alex Tuch and Jason Zucker in a span of 1:23 to flip the game around. Shesterkin is down to 25-18-6 with a 2.53 GAA and a .911 save percentage after taking his second loss in his last five outings. With the Rangers eliminated from playoff contention, it's unclear if Shesterkin will maintain a heavy workload in the final week of the season. The team closes out the year on a three-game road trip, beginning Saturday in Dallas.

Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Set to face Buffalo
Shesterkin is expected to start at home against Buffalo on Wednesday, per Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic.
Shesterkin has a 25-17-6 record, 2.50 GAA and .912 save percentage in 49 outings in 2025-26. He's gone 3-1-0 over his past four appearances while stopping 90 of 96 shots (.938 save percentage). Buffalo is one of the league's top teams with a 47-23-8 record. However, the Sabres have been a mixed bag recently, averaging 2.88 goals per game and posting a 3-3-2 record going into Tuesday's matchup.

Zibanejad logged three assists, including two on the power play, and added two shots on goal and three blocked shots in Sunday's 8-1 win over the Capitals.
Zibanejad has a goal and five helpers during a four-game point streak. He's been locked in since the start of March, earning 22 points (nine goals, 13 assists) over his last 19 contests. Zibanejad always brings his best against the Capitals, earning 19 goals and 42 points over 51 career matchups against them, his third-best total against any team. For the season, the 32-year-old center has 33 tallies, 42 assists, 33 power-play points, 207 shots on net, 100 hits, 49 blocked shots and a minus-17 rating through 77 outings.

Sheary scored a goal on three shots in Sunday's 8-1 win over the Capitals.
Sheary made a near-instant impact, scoring just 23 seconds into the game. The 33-year-old winger had gone two games without a point prior to Sunday, but he's earned four goals and a helper over his last eight outings. For the season, he's at seven goals, 17 points, 77 shots on net, 35 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating through 58 appearances, but he's clearly picked up the pace late in the year.

Sykora scored a goal on two shots and blocked two shots in Sunday's 8-1 win over the Capitals.
Sykora and the Rangers' fourth line got in on the fun in the second period. The 21-year-old scored at 13:22 of the frame to put the Rangers up 5-1. The winger is now at three goals, one assist, nine shots on net, 15 hits, six blocked shots and a plus-1 rating across his first seven NHL outings. His solid play so far could go a long way to earning him an NHL job out of the gate in 2026-27.

Trocheck scored a goal on three shots, dished an assist, went plus-3 and added three hits in Sunday's 8-1 win over the Capitals.
Trocheck had been limited to two assists over his previous eight games. The 32-year-old center is up to 16 goals, 52 points, 108 shots on net, 184 hits, 56 PIM, 45 blocked shots and a minus-14 rating over 63 appearances this season. Trocheck has been playing on the third line recently, but his power-play time keeps him in a good position to generate offense.

Miller redirected a pass in tight from Mika Zibanejad for the go-ahead goal 3:07 into the second period. Later in the frame, Miller helped out on an Adam Fox tally. With three goals and six assists over his last seven outings, Miller is rolling on offense, and five of his points in that span have come with a man advantage. He's at 17 goals, 33 helpers, 17 power-play points, 136 shots on net, 119 hits, 30 blocked shots and a minus-27 rating through 64 contests on the year.

Fox scored a power-play goal and added two assists in Sunday's 8-1 win over the Capitals.
One of his helpers also came on the power play. Fox extended his point streak to seven games with one of his best efforts of the season. During the streak, he's earned three goals and 10 helpers, including seven power-play points. Fox is up to eight goals, 50 points, 83 shots on net, 72 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating over 51 appearances. His counting stats are at the usual levels due to his lengthy injury absences this season, but he's been in peak form on a per-game basis.

Cuylle scored three goals on six shots, added nine PIM and doled out four hits in Sunday's 8-1 win over the Capitals.
Cuylle had two of the Rangers' five goals in the second period and scored one more in the final minute of the game to earn his first hat trick. With this productive effort, he also secured his second straight 20-goal campaign. Cuylle has scored four times over his last three contests, offering quality offense from a middle-six role while also being an elite source of toughness. He's at 37 points, 153 shots on net, 278 hits, 59 PIM, 64 blocked shots and a minus-11 rating over 78 appearances this season.

Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Cruises to win over Capitals
Shesterkin stopped 20 of 21 shots in Sunday's 8-1 win over the Capitals.
Shesterkin picked up his third win in four outings, and he didn't have to do a lot for this one. The Rangers' five-goal second period was the difference, allowing Shesterkin to cruise to the victory. He's up to 25-17-6 with a 2.50 GAA and a .912 save percentage over 49 starts this season. While the Rangers are not in the playoff picture, Shesterkin seems likely to get a decent share of the starts to close out the season, as the team doesn't have a back-to-back left on the schedule.

Shesterkin will be between the home pipes Sunday versus Washington, according to Mollie Walker of the New York Post.
Shesterkin allowed three goals on 25 shots in a 3-2 loss to Montreal on Thursday, but he won back-to-back starts prior to that. The Russian netminder is 24-17-6 with a 2.53 GAA and a .912 save percentage over 48 outings this season. Both teams are on the second half of a back-to-back Sunday -- the Capitals are coming off a 6-2 win over the Sabres, while the Rangers defeated the Red Wings by a 4-1 score.

Rangers' Jaroslav Chmelar: Three points in last five games
Chmelar scored a goal Saturday in a 4-1 win over Detroit.
It was a beautiful tip that beat John Gibson to open the scoring in the first period. Chmelar has a modest five points, including four goals, in 23 games this season, but three of those points (two goals, one assist) have come in his last five games (nine shots). Chmelar has limited upside, but his massive frame (six-foot-five) makes him a dangerous net-front presence.

Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Stellar in win
Quick made 31 saves in a 4-1 win over Detroit on Saturday.
The veteran netminder was stellar, especially in the third period when the Red Wings outshot the Rangers 18-6. He had a shutout in his sights, but David Perron knocked in a loose puck at the far side of the net after a wraparound attempt. Quick has won two of his last three outings. Like the Rangers, the 40-year-old has had a rough season. He's 6-16-2 with two shutouts, a 3.09 GAA and .893 save percentage.
