Rempe was reassigned to AHL Hartford on Thursday.
Rempe has played in just two of the Rangers' first seven games, logging five hits and one blocked shot. The 22-year-old forward will get more playing time with Hartford, but even if he eventually returns to the NHL, he has little to offer outside of physical play.
