The Rangers placed Bonino on waivers Thursday, Dan Rosen of NHL.com reports.
General manager Chris Drury met with Bonino on Thursday morning to notify the forward of the team's decision. The Rangers are not sure what Bonino's next move will be should he clear waivers. The 35-year-old has only a goal and four assists in 45 NHL games this season.
