Stutzle scored two goals, one on the power play, in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Panthers.
The 22-year-old opened the scoring early in the first period by snapping a shot through traffic past Sergei Bobrovsky, then sealed the victory with an empty-netter. Stutzle saw his goal total more than cut in half in 2023-24 compared to the season before, falling from 39 tallies to just 18, and his 9.4 percent shooting (down from 17.1 percent) was a big driver in that decline. Lighting the lamp twice on three shots in Ottawa's season opener could be a sign better puck luck is coming Stutzle's way in 2024-25.
