Senators' Tyler Boucher: Remaining with Ottawa
Boucher signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Senators on Friday.
Boucher was a first-round pick by the Senators in 2021, but he hasn't yet made his NHL debut. However, he'll remain with the organization for the 2026-27 campaign. Boucher recorded 12 goals, 14 assists and 68 PIM across 47 regular-season appearances with AHL Belleville last year.

Senators' Xavier Bourgault: Settles with Ottawa
Bourgault reached an arbitration settlement on a one-year contract with the Senators on Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Bourgault's new deal will pay him $850,000 at the NHL level or $265,000 at the AHL level. He made his NHL debut last year by making two regular-season appearances for Ottawa, but he spent most of his time in the minors, racking up 25 goals, 32 assists and 34 PIM across 70 regular-season appearances with AHL Belleville.

Senators' Claude Giroux: Signs performance-laden deal
Giroux inked a one-year, $2 million contract with the Senators on Tuesday, per PuckPedia.
While Giroux's base salary is $2 million, he can earn an additional $3 million in performance bonuses. The right-shot forward might move around the lineup a bit in 2026-27, but he will probably play mostly in a middle-six role. The 2006 No. 22 overall pick supplied 14 goals, 49 points (13 on the power play), 138 shots and a plus-20 rating over 82 regular-season games in 2025-26, so he's proven to be a reliable contributor even at 38 years old, due in large part to his hockey sense.

Senators' Leevi Merilainen: Re-signs Thursday
Merilainen signed a one-year, $1.1 million contract with the Senators on Thursday.
Merilainen had an 8-10-1 record, 3.51 GAA and .860 save percentage in 20 regular-season appearances with Ottawa in 2025-26. While those results leave plenty to be desired, the 23-year-old has the potential to bounce back. However, he'll have to compete with Samuel Ersson during training camp to earn the No. 2 job behind Linus Ullmark. If the 23-year-old Merilainen doesn't do enough to win an NHL roster spot, then he'll return to the minors to continue to hone his game.

Senators' Christian Kyrou: Lands two-way deal
Kyrou signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Senators on Wednesday.
Kyrou didn't receive a qualifying offer from the Flyers earlier this week, but he'll land a two-way deal with Ottawa on the first day of free agency. Across 55 regular-season appearances with AHL Lehigh Valley last year, he recorded 10 goals, 24 assists and 16 PIM.

Senators' Ryan Suzuki: Inks two-way contract
Suzuki signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Senators on Wednesday.
Suzuki got his first taste of NHL action with the Hurricanes during the 2024-25 campaign, but he spent all of last season at AHL Chicago. He recorded 13 goals, 35 assists and 30 PIM over 66 regular-season appearances last year and will likely spend most of his time in the minors once again during the 2026-27 season.

Senators' Philip Tomasino: Signs two-way deal
Tomasino signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Senators on Wednesday.
Tomasino had just one assist in nine NHL games for the Penguins in the 2025-26 regular season. He picked up 12 goals and 29 assists over 52 AHL regular-season games between Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Lehigh Valley. Tomasino should challenge for a bottom-six role with the Senators during training camp.

Senators' Sammy Blais: Agrees to two-way deal
Blais signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Senators on Wednesday.
Blais had 14 goals, 38 points and 62 PIM in 35 regular-season outings with AHL Laval in 2025-26. He also had three goals and eight points in 21 regular-season appearances between Toronto and Montreal last campaign. Blais doesn't have an easy path to a spot on Ottawa's Opening Night roster, but at the very least, he will get plenty of consideration during training camp.

Senators' Philippe Daoust: Returns to Ottawa
Daoust signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Senators on Wednesday.
Daoust hasn't yet made his NHL debut, and he became an unrestricted free agent Wednesday after he didn't receive a qualifying offer from Ottawa. However, he'll rejoin the Senators on a two-way deal on the first day of free agency. Across 63 regular-season appearances with AHL Belleville last year, he recorded 14 goals, 36 assists and 24 PIM.

Senators' Samuel Ersson: Signs with Ottawa
Ersson signed a two-year, $4.4 million contract with the Senators on Wednesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Ersson was traded to the Senators from the Maple Leafs on Friday, and he didn't receive a qualifying offer from Ottawa, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent. However, he reached an agreement to remain with the Senators. Ersson will probably battle with Leevi Merilainen for the No. 2 goaltender role ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

Senators' Nick Cousins: Re-ups with Ottawa
Cousins signed a two-year, $3.175 million contract with the Senators on Tuesday, per PuckPedia.
Cousins will continue to bring the physicality and agitation in a bottom-six role. The 32-year-old had 23 points, 92 PIM and 169 hits over 81 regular-season outings in 2025-26. He also shot 11.4 percent, the second-highest mark of his career, so he may experience some regression in 2026-27.

Senators' Louis-Felix Bourque: Nabbed by Sens in Round 3
Bourque was the 91st overall pick by Ottawa in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday.
Bourque recently completed his rookie season with Drummondville in the QMJHL, finishing with 24 goals, 49 points, and a plus-16 rating in 54 games. At 6-foot-2, 215 pounds, Bourque has ideal size, and as a mid-July birthday, he's also one of the youngest first-year eligible players in the 2026 NHL Draft. The Stoneham, Quebec native is a candidate to see heavily increased production in his second season with the Voltigeurs.

Senators' Oscar Holmertz: Picked by Ottawa in Round 3
Holmertz was the 87th overall pick by Ottawa in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday.
Like many young, talented Swedish players, Holmertz falls into the group that is too good to play in their junior league but not quite ready for full-time minutes in the SHL. He did get into 11 regular-season games with Linkoping's top team, failing to record a point. Holmertz is an excellent skater and plays with pace. His vision is clearly above average, and he's a major asset with the man advantage. Holmertz's compete level is a bit in and out, but that's common with younger players. He has a top-six offensive skill set, which makes him a worthy gamble by the Sens in Round 3.

Senators' Adam Nemec: Grabbed by Sens in Round 3
Nemec was the 72nd overall pick by Ottawa in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday.
The brother of Calgary defenseman Simon Nemec, Adam began the year in his native Slovakia before joining OHL Sudbury. Adam proved to be a nice addition to a team that lacked offensive talent, finishing with 14 goals and 35 points in 31 OHL games. The general view on Nemec is that he's a solid all-around player who can contribute in a ton of areas but lacks one single elite skill to fall back upon. At 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, Nemec has some size, skill, and pedigree, so he was a perfectly justifiable pick by Ottawa at this stage of the draft.

Senators' Jaxon Cover: Raw, athletic winger drafted 32nd
Cover was the 32nd overall pick by Ottawa in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on Friday.
Cover's backstory is probably the most fascinating in the entire draft. He spent his childhood in the Cayman Islands and first got noticed as a standout roller hockey player in his youth. He joined OHL London this past season and finished with 20 goals and 52 points in 67 regular-season games -- those are impressive totals given his limited time playing high-level ice hockey. Cover is an exceptional athlete with speed and skill, but he's as raw as they come and needs a lot of work on the finer points of the game. He's expected to spend one more season in London before joining Penn State in the fall of 2027. You can dream of Cover becoming almost anything, but it's going to be a long road to get there. He's definitely a fantasy watch-and-wait.

Senators' Jonas Lagerberg Hoen: Pure sniper drafted 25th overall
Lagerberg Hoen was the 25th overall pick by Ottawa in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on Friday.
Lagerberg Hoen's draft season was derailed by a knee injury which limited him to 11 games. But he was so good in a nine-game stint in the Swedish Jr. league (nine goals, 16 points) that he earned a brief two-game trial with Leksands' main SHL club. Lagerberg Hoen is an excellent athlete. He's 6-foot-2, creative and has a deadly wrist shot. He's a pure sniper -- the teenager put up 27 goals and just three assists in 38 games in 2024-25. There's zero chance he would have been available at this stage of the draft if he had been healthy and produced over a full season. Lagerberg Hoen is a no-brainer, high-upside snag for Ottawa.

Senators' Andre Burakovsky: Traded for draft pick
Burakovsky was acquired by Ottawa from Chicago on Friday in exchange for a 2027 sixth-round pick.
Burakovsky has one campaign remaining on his five-year, $27.5 million contract before he's eligible to become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2027. The 31-year-old had 11 goals and 33 points in 75 outings with the Blackhawks in 2025-26. It was his fourth straight regular season with under 40 points after setting a career high of 61 in 80 regular-season outings with Colorado in 2021-22. Burakovsky is unlikely to match his previous high, but he still should be a serviceable middle-six forward for the Senators.

Senators' Samuel Ersson: Dealt to Ottawa
Ersson was traded to the Senators from the Maple Leafs on Friday in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft.
Ersson was traded to Toronto from Philadelphia in mid-June, and he'll be on the move once again just over a week later. He made 33 regular-season appearances for the Flyers during the 2025-26 campaign, going 14-11-5 with a 3.12 GAA and .870 save percentage. Leevi Merilainen is slated to be a restricted free agent during the offseason, while James Reimer will be an unrestricted free agent, so Ersson could have the opportunity to carve out a backup role behind Linus Ullmark during the 2026-27 season.

Senators' Jordan Spence: Inks four-year deal with Ottawa
Spence signed a four-year, $20 million contract with the Senators on Friday, Alex Adams of Sportsnet reports.
After spending the first four years of his career with the Kings, Spence joined the Senators for the 2025-26 campaign. He made 73 regular-season appearances, recording seven goals, 24 assists, 59 blocked shots, 55 hits and 22 PIM while averaging 18:44 of ice time. He was slated to become a restricted free agent during the offseason, but he'll remain under contract with Ottawa for the next four seasons following his new agreement.

Senators' Samuel Bolduc: Inks two-way deal
Bolduc inked a one-year, two-way contract with Ottawa on Friday.
Bolduc failed to get into an NHL game last year, spending the entirety of the campaign in the minors. In his 68 regular-season games for AHL Ontario and AHL Belleville, the 2019 second-round pick managed six goals and 25 assists. Unless he can improve his offensive upside, Bolduc is unlikely to see much in the way of NHL minutes in 2026-27 either.
