Ceci was traded to the Sharks from the Oilers on Sunday, along with a 2025 third-round pick, in a swap for Ty Emberson.
Ceci is carrying a $3.25 million cap hit while Emberson will now cost the Oilers just $950,000, a move that will likely allow Edmonton to re-sign one or both of Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway. For his part, the 30-year-old Ceci should slot into a top-four pairing for his new club, where he figures to offer 20-25 points while dishing out 100-plus hits and blocks.
