Comeau cleared waivers Friday and is expected to report to AHL Texas, Matthew DeFranks of The Dallas Morning News reports.
The 35-year-old has 334 points in 909 NHL contests, so it was surprising to see him waived and then pass through unclaimed. Comeau hasn't played a non-NHL professional contest since a 19-game AHL stint in 2008-09.
