  • Nurse notched two assists, four shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in Thursday's 7-1 win over the Wild. Nurse earned his first multi-point effort since Nov. 14. He has four points over eight contests since he returned from an upper-body injury he suffered against the Maple Leafs on Nov. 16. Nurse won't keep pace with the elite high-scoring defensemen, but he's been solid this year with 13 points, 70 shots on net, 51 blocked shots, 45 hits and a plus-10 rating over 26 appearances.

Through 24 outings overall, Nurse has contributed three goals and eight assists while seeing top-four minutes. The 29-year-old blueliner has added 63 shots on net, 46 blocked shots, 43 hits, 18 PIM and a plus-6 rating.

  • Nurse scored a shorthanded goal on four shots and blocked three shots in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Rangers. Nurse missed three games after taking a high hit from Ryan Reaves last Saturday versus Toronto. In his return, Nurse led the Oilers with 23:30 of ice time in a blowout win, so it looks like he's fine moving forward. The defenseman has racked up three goals, 10 points, 49 shots on net, 34 hits, 35 blocked shots, 18 PIM and a plus-2 rating through 19 outings in a top-four role this season. His all-around production will benefit fantasy managers who weathered his absence.

  • Nurse (upper body) will play Saturday against the Rangers, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports. Nurse will rejoin the Edmonton lineup after missing the Oilers' previous three contests. The 29-year-old blueliner has two goals, nine points and a plus-2 rating in 18 games this season.

  • Head coach Kris Knoblauch said Thursday that Nurse (upper body) could return for Saturday's game against the Rangers, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports. Nurse sustained an upper-body injury against the Maple Leafs on Nov. 16 and carried a return timetable of 5-10 days. While he's been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Wild, he could be back in action after missing under a week. If he's unable to suit up against the Rangers, he'll have plenty of time to recover since the Oilers won't play again until Nov. 29 against Utah.
