Keith is going to retire from hockey, reports Pierre LeBrun of TSN. The 38-year-old Keith has had a likely Hall of Fame career, putting up 106 goals and 646 points in 1,256 games with the Blackhawks and just a single season with the Oilers. He earned the Norris trophy twice and the Conn Smythe once, and Keith hoisted the Stanley Cup three times in Chicago. There's term left on his deal, and due to the cap recapture mechanism, the Blackhawks will be on the hook for a $5.5 million penalty this season and $1.9 million next season.

Keith notched an assist and blocked four shots in Thursday's 5-4 overtime win over the Flames in Game 5. Keith helped out on Evan Bouchard's game-tying goal at 16:08 of the second period. The 38-year-old Keith has only gotten on the scoresheet in three of the Oilers' 12 playoff contests, but he's picked up five points. The experienced blueliner has played big minutes in a top-four role, and he's added 24 blocked shots, 14 shots on net and a minus-3 rating.

Keith scored a goal on two shots and added a pair of assists in Friday's 5-3 win over the Flames in Game 2. Keith sparked the Oilers' comeback push with a first-period tally. He also set up Connor McDavid and Evan Bouchard (on the power play) in the second period as the visitors pulled even at 3-3. Prior to Friday, Keith had one point in eight playoff games, so this level of production shouldn't be expected regularly. The 38-year-old has added 13 shots on net, 15 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating in a top-four role.

Keith posted a power-play assist, two hits and two blocked shots in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Kings in Game 1. Keith ended the regular season on a four-game point drought, but that ended when he set up Kailer Yamamoto's second-period tally. The 38-year-old Keith is expected to play a top-four role in the postseason while adding a wealth of playoff experience. Prior to this year, the defenseman has amassed 86 points in 135 playoff contests while lifting the Stanley Cup three times as a member of the Blackhawks.

Keith produced an assist, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Friday's 6-3 win over the Avalanche. Keith has picked up assists in each of the last two games. He also had to take on 21:34 of ice time, his highest total since March 9, when Darnell Nurse (lower body) exited the game. Keith is up to 21 points, 78 shots, 100 blocked shots and a plus-12 rating through 60 contests, but he's mainly seen a second-pairing role for much of the season. With Nurse's status unclear for Sunday in Columbus, the 38-year-old Keith could be asked to play a larger role in the near term.
