  • Keith Yandle: Announces retirement
    By RotoWire

Yandle will hang up his skates Tuesday after 16 professional seasons, per NHL.com. Yandle will perhaps be best known for his Ironman streak of 989 consecutive games played spanning from March 2009 to March 2022, though that record looks poised to fall to Phil Kessel soon. Overall, the 36-year-old Yandle played for the Coyotes, Rangers, Panthers and Flyers over the course of his career and logged 619 points in 1109 appearances.

  • Yandle dished out two helpers -- one on the power play -- in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Penguins. Yandle's best playmaking days are well behind him, but the 35-year-old defenseman turned back the clock in this one, assisting on a pair of goals by Noah Cates. Even after this performance, Yandle's 19 points plus whatever more gets in the last week of the season will be the fewest he's scored in a campaign since racking up only 12 as a rookie with the Coyotes back in 2007-08.

  • Yandle was a healthy scratch Saturday against the Leafs. It ended his NHL-record consecutive games played streak at 989 games. He last missed a regular-season game on March 22, 2009 when he was a member of the Coyotes. Yandle has been a bad option on the ice and in fantasy this season, but saw plenty of game time to this point because the team has been so bad. Phil Kessel is in hot pursuit for the Ironman streak -- he has 968 consecutive games played.

  • Yandle has been held off the scoresheet in the past 11 games. It's been a tough season for Yandle, as he's been held pointless in the past 11 contests and has just one point in his last 18 outings. Through 65 matchups this year, he has one goal, 14 assists, and a minus-37 rating.

  • Flyers' Keith Yandle: Ice time diminishing
    By RotoWire

Yandle was scoreless with a minus-1 rating in 11:58 of ice time during Tuesday's loss to the Islanders. It was a historic night for Yandle, as he set the NHL ironman record after playing in his 965th consecutive game. However, games played on their own won't help much in the fantasy realm. Yandle is in a seven-game point drought, and hasn't reached 15 minutes of ice time in his past nine outings. His role with the Flyers is shrinking, as is his fantasy value. He has 13 points and a minus-23 rating through 43 games.
